Miles Mikolas was in dire need of a successful outing when he took the mound for the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday afternoon against the Atlanta Braves. The veteran all-star pitched six scoreless innings for St. Louis and left the game with a 1-0 lead. Across those six innings, Mikolas put the Cardinals' defense to work, giving up six hits, walking two and striking out two. Mikolas threw 89 pitches, 54 of which were strikes. The St. Louis Cardinals have played 18 games so far this season and is 9-9 so far. St. Louis' rotation has been solid with a 3.91 ERA -- despite Miles Mikolas' 9.00 ERA -- and the offense has been one of the best in baseball in the league. 4/15/25 | Cardinals Expert Addresses Chance Of Shakeup With Ex-All-Star. The St. Louis Cardinals have played 16 games so far and if you were to scroll social media at points you would think that the season was in the dog days of the summer with all of the takes and trade chatter out there. St. Louis is just about 10 percent of the way into 162-game season which sounds like a lot, but there are still 152 games to be played including at least 1,368 innings left in the regular season barring extra innings. There's a lot of time left and the Cardinals have been better than expected, frankly. One guy who has been talked about a lot, though is starting pitcher Miles Mikolas.
