Rams take Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson in second round after trading out of first. The Los Angeles Rams selected Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson with the 46th overall pick in the second round of the NFL draft on Friday night. “I think I bring a lot of things, versatility being the biggest,” Ferguson said in a video call from his family home in Denver. Ferguson represents a potential long-term answer at the position for the Rams. Tyler Higbee, a nine-year veteran, is going into the final season of a two-year contract extension he signed in 2023.

Cardinals' Will Johnson motivated after 2025 NFL Draft skid. Two years ago, they took a gamble on a pair of third-round picks in Garrett Williams and Michael Wilson. Williams at the time was still recovering from a torn ACL. Wilson had dealt with multiple injuries during his time at Stanford. Fast forward to 2025, and Williams is cemented as the team's nickel cornerback and is coming off his best season as a pro.

The long-awaited first round of the 2025 NFL Draft took place yesterday, and it was a whirlwind of emotions for numerous players, fans, and organizations. The Kansas City Chiefs selected an offensive tackle with their 32nd overall pick following a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles. It was Ohio State's Josh Simmons. Regularly showing up on expert mocks, Simmons was a favorite by many to be taken by the Chiefs, but it was uncertain whether he'd make it to the end of the first round.

Lions exercise options to keep DE Aidan Hutchinson, WR Jameson Williams under contract through 2026. The Detroit Lions have exercised fifth-year options to keep edge rusher Aidan Hutchinson and wide receiver Jameson Williams under contract through the 2026 season. Detroit made the moves Friday, a day after signing All-Pro safety Kerby Joseph to an $86 million, four-year contract extension. The Lions selected Hutchinson second overall and Williams No. 12 overall in the 2022 NFL draft.

Chicago Bears Insider Links Team To Iowa Standout. We're heading into Day 2 of the 2025 NFL Draft and Iowa Hawkeyes running back Kaleb Johnson has not yet been drafted. That's not a surprise, of course. What would have been a surpirise would be Johnson getting selected on Thursday in Round 1. Cowboys fans need to be worried after Stephen Jones' cringeworthy draft take. The Dallas Cowboys appear ready to make the same mistake during the 2025 NFL draft that they did during the 2024 NFL draft. Dallas had one of the worst running back stables in the league, but ignored the position all weekend. Ultimately, they went with Ezekiel Elliott as their starter, who struggled mightily. Rico Dowdle eventually replaced him and was far better than expected, but they were still just 29th in rushing yards as a team.

Rams rumors: Two WRs LA tried to trade for in NFL Draft first round. The Los Angeles Rams ended the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft without making a pick, but that was not always their goal. Before trading the No. 26 pick to the Atlanta Falcons, the Rams reportedly tried to trade up for a pair of wideouts but could not get the deal done in time. The Rams supposedly tried to get the action going early, attempting to trade up for Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan, according to 'The Dan Patrick Show,' via SB Nation's Blaine Grisak. After that plan failed, general manager Les Snead got back on the phones in an effort to move up for Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka.

Purdy is present at the 49ers' voluntary offseason workout program despite his contract situation. General manager John Lynch has noted progress being made regarding Purdy's extension. Bears predicted to draft 23-year-old star to complete infamous Panthers blockbuster. The Chicago Bears were involved in one of the most memorable trades in recent NFL Draft memory, and that trade officially becomes finalized on Friday. In March of 2023, the Bears traded the number-one pick in the next month's draft to the Carolina Panthers for the chance to select Alabama quarterback Bryce Young.
