2/10/25 Washington Nationals Again Connected to All-Star Closer in Free Agency. The Washington Nationals were a team that many people were keeping an eye on heading into the MLB offseason. A few veteran additions, along with their continued development, could push them close to the .500 mark. Given the competition in their division, as the NL East has three legitimate World Series contenders in the Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets and Atlanta Braves, it made sense to temper expectations and spending. The Washington Nationals are on the upswing portion of their rebuild, and the 2024 campaign was a solid indicator of things to come. This winter, the club brought in Josh Bell, a veteran first baseman to help lead the club and fill a hole in a position of need. In a recent article for TalkNats.com, DonH set out to see just how much AI, specifically ChatGPT, was paying attention to what the Nationals have been doing by prompting it with, "surprise me with a summary of the Washington Nationals 2024 season."
