The Texas Rangers have underperformed at the plate, led by familiar face Joc Pederson, who somehow has zero RBI through 21 appearances. On Thursday, they got walked off in Sacramento by the Athletics, and a day after that gut punch, Bochy began his media session by giving a lengthy update on promising young starter Kumar Rocker, who just went on the IL with a shoulder injury. | 4/22/25 | Rangers' Joc Pederson in worse hitless drought than you could ever imagine. Joc Pederson is in the worst slump possible. The once-proud MLB slugger is now playing for the Texas Rangers, and he's entirely unable to find himself even a solitary hit. You truly couldn't guess how long Pederson's hitless drought it. There's no way it could be this lengthy. Just how many at bats has Pederson gone without a hit? Forty. Yep, he's 0 for his last 40. That's unfathomable. This is a guy with 890 major league hits. He hit .273 last year. This year, it's down to .052 and dropping. Despite the team's hot start though, there is one hitter in the lineup that has gotten off to an absolutely awful start at the plate. Joc Pederson, who signed a two-year $37 million deal with the Rangers this past offseason, was brought on by the Texas front office to provide some much needed pop in a lineup that struggled in that department last season.
