By Eric Cole | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Los Angeles Dodgers v Los Angeles Angels | Brandon Sloter/GettyImages Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article Everyone that has followed the Los Angeles Angels at all in recent years is fully aware of the abomination that is Anthony Rendon's contract . An already questionable deal when it was first handed out back in December 2019, Rendon's seven year, $245 million deal has quickly evolved into the contract against which all badness is measured. 3/15/25 Angels Insider Predicts Anthony Rendon to Be Released, Still Paid Out Full Contract. 3/07/25 Angels Receive Nearly Failing Grade by ESPN Insider for Offseason Moves. The Los Angeles Angels made a flurry of moves this offseason, but ESPN insider David Schoenfield had nothing good to say about the Halos. Schoenfield gave the Angels a 'D+' for their work this winter, which certainly doesn't bode well for a team that is coming of a 63-win season. "Meanwhile, Anthony Rendon is already injured (and is expected to miss 'a significant amount of time') and the team announced Mike Trout will be moving to right field on a regular basis, although the possible replacements in center are Mickey Moniak (.266 OBP) and Jo Adell (.280 OBP, hasn't played regularly in center field since he was in the low minors in 2018)."

2/23/25 Angels Have Not Had Contract Extension Talks With Key Utility Player. If the Los Angeles Angels have learned anything over the past couple of seasons, it's how important depth is. Injuries have inevitably happened with Anthony Rendon time and time again, thrusting Luis Rengifo into a key role with the Halos. Rengifo is set to become a free agent at the end of this season, and he revealed there haven't been any talks so far regarding a contract extension. “I played almost six years with the Angels,” he said.
