4/19/25 | How Are Jurickson Profar, Tanner Scott and Other Former Padres Doing Thus Far in 2025. The San Diego Padres are off to a hot start in 2025 after an offseason that had many wondering what the state of the retooled team would be. Regardless of how long some of these players have been in San Diego, they will always be a part of the Padres family, wherever they ended up in MLB. Perhaps the most notable departure was Jurickson Profar. The fan-favorite outfielder enjoyed two stints and five seasons wearing a Padres uniform. 4/15/25 | Braves-Dodgers 5-player trade idea ships promising pitcher, outfielder to Atlanta. The Atlanta Braves won't be the worst team in the National League East all season, but it's fair to ask at this point whether they need to make some roster improvements. Despite their dominant win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday, the Braves currently sit at 5-11. If there are two obvious needs for the Braves right now, they are an extra outfielder, thanks to the 80-game suspension for free-agent acquisition Jurickson Profar, and a depth starting pitcher, thanks to the struggles of Bryce Elder and A.J. Smith-Shawver. Source: https://www.sportingnews.com/us/mlb/atlanta-braves... |
4/13/25 | Former Red Sox first baseman suggests rule change to help eliminate PED use. Jurickson Profar became latest player to receive a suspension for violating Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program after he tested positive for chorionic gonadotropin. The Atlanta Braves will be without their left fielder for 80 games. Profar also won't be eligible to play in the postseason if the Braves make it. While a lengthy suspension, in theory, should be enough motivation for a professional athlete to stay away from banned substances, former Boston Red Sox first baseman Eric Hosmer has another idea. 4/12/25 | Former Padres Slugger Eric Hosmer Says MLB Needs Stricter Penalties for PED Use. The San Diego Padres are off to a hot start this season as they are one of only two teams in MLB to notch 11 wins, but their recent success isn't the only major story in baseball this year. Former beloved Padres outfielder Jurickson Profar inked a three-year $42 million deal with the Atlanta Braves after a career year in 2024, but just four games into the new season with his new team, he tested positive for a banned substance and is serving an 80 game suspension. Cheating in baseball has unfortunately been around for many years, with steroid use, sports gambling, and other factors attempting to dirty the game. 4/10/25 | Braves Named Candidate to Sign Multi-Award Winning OF. The Ronald Acuña Jr. injury recovery and Jurickson Profar suspension has greatly hurt the Atlanta Braves outfield depth. Most nights early this season, it's placed the team in a position to start both outfielders Bryan De La Cruz and Jarred Kelenic. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller proposed a potential alternative Tuesday -- veteran David Peralta. Miller named the Braves one of four candidates to sign the free agent veteran corner outfielder.
