4/25/25 | Tigers option lefty reliever to Toledo ahead of weekend series. DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers have optioned left-handed reliever Bailey Horn to Triple-A Toledo. They'll make a corresponding move to fill Horn's spot before Friday night's series opener against the Baltimore Orioles. Horn pitched in just one game in his five-day stint with the big-league club, striking out two over 1 1/3 scoreless innings against the San Diego Padres on April 22. Horn was recalled from Toledo to take the spot of injured right-hander John Brebbia on April 19. Horn, 27, is in his second stint with the Tigers, who claimed him off waivers from the Boston Red Sox in November, but DFA'd him a month later when they signed second baseman Gleyber Torres . 3/13/25 | Detroit Tigers reacquire lefty reliever in trade with Cardinals. DETROIT -- The Detroit Tigers acquired left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn from the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday. Horn had been designated for assignment when the Cardinals signed veteran reliever Phil Maton . The Tigers sent cash considerations to complete the deal. It's the second stint in the Tigers organization for Horn. The Tigers claimed him off waivers from the Boston Red Sox in November, but DFA'd him a month later when they signed second baseman Gleyber Torres . Horn, 27, played college ball at Auburn and was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the fifth round in 2020. 11/23/24 | Red Sox lose LHP on waivers to AL Central club. As the Boston Red Sox plan for the 2025 MLB season, they've had to make some adjustments to their roster, including exposing left-handed pitcher Bailey Horn to waivers. On Friday, the Detroit Tigers claimed Horn, leaving a 40-man roster spot open for the Red Sox. Boston acquired Horn in a trade with the Chicago White Sox for cash considerations in April. He was back and forth between Boston and Triple-A Worcester throughout the year, but at the MLB level, he struggled. In 18 starts for the Red Sox, he posted a 6.50 ERA and a 1.778 WHIP while striking out 13 batters over 18 innings.
