Thomas threw two innings of relief against New York, but it was a game that saw the Yankees hit well against all of the Brewers in a 20-9 score. Thomas did record two strikeouts in his debut, but also had the bad luck of being part of Aaron Judge's three-homer day. MILWAUKEE — Connor Thomas has made it. The Tift County high alumnus starts the 2025 baseball season on a Major League roster. Thomas will make his debut with the Milwaukee Brewers. Thomas will wear No. 57 with the Brew Crew, whose opening day was Thursday at Yankee Stadium. The St. Louis Cardinals picked Thomas in the fifth round of the 2019 MLB draft out of Georgia Tech. 3/02/25 | Ex-Cardinals Pitching Prospect Criticizes Team's Player Development System. The St. Louis Cardinals did not accomplish anything this offseason. Left-hander Connor Thomas, who was ranked the No. 17 prospect in the organization in 2023, was claimed by the Milwaukee Brewers in the Rule 5 Draft last December. Thomas never reached the Major Leagues with St. Louis and now gets a fresh start with a division rival.
