4/10/25 | Jo Adell becomes first Angels player since 2012 to homer twice in an inning. Jo Adell’s home run drought ended all at once as he hit two of the Los Angeles Angels’ four homers in an eight-run fifth inning against the Tampa Bay Rays. Adell hit Zack Littell’s first-pitch slider 408 feet out to center leading off the inning and ended it with a three-run shot to left off Mason Englert. In between Taylor Ward hit his second homer of the game and Mike Trout went deep for the first of two times as the Angels finished the fifth with a 10-1 lead. They won 11-1. Adell hit a career-high 20 homers last season. Source: https://www.chron.com/sports/article/jo-adell-beco... |
2/14/25 | Rays reliever Mason Englert needed time, then found success with Tigers. New Rays reliever Mason Englert's major-league debut season with the Tigers in 2023 was a significant learning experience. Freed of the Rule 5 requirements, Englert opened 2024 at Triple A with a chance to continue his development. It took a while — including a month-long return to the majors starting in late May without much better results — and some time missed at Triple A with elbow inflammation, but he finally felt like he made progress. “I was like, man, I've got some big-league stuff going on,” Englert said. 1/16/25 | Yankees prospect Spencer Jones 'in a great spot' after 'roller-coaster season,' eager to learn from Aaron Judge. In his very first at-bat of the spring, the 6-6 slugger pulverized a pitch from Detroit Tigers reliever Mason Englert, pulling it 470 feet in an impressive display of his left-handed power.
