4/20/25 | Diamondbacks Infielder Activated from IL, Optioned to Triple-A. The Arizona Diamondbacks have announced a roster move. Per the team's communications department infielder Blaze Alexander has been reinstated off the 10-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Reno. Alexander suffered an oblique strain in late February in spring training, sidelining him for the next month. After a period of rest and recovery, Alexander began doing baseball activities in mid-March and worked his way up to being able to play in games. Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Blaze Alexander suffered a right oblique strain while working in the batting cages on Wednesday and will miss time leading up to the regular season. Manager Torey Lovullo said Alexander will be out “weeks, not days” with a grade 1 strain, and he may run out of time before Opening Day to make his case to compete for a roster spot. Arizona Diamondbacks utility player Blaze Alexander has learned from his up-and-down rookie season in the major leagues to his time down in the minors. “I'm working at third base, I'm working at shortstop, second (base),” Alexander said Monday on Burns & Gambo.
