4/17/25 | Minnesota Twins, Amid Injury Woes, Set to Add Top Prospect with Sterling Pro Stats. The Minnesota Twins announced two roster moves on Thursday but didn't reveal the biggest one of all. They are promoting their top infield prospect – Luke Keaschall, listed by MLB Pipeline as the No. 57 prospect in baseball – to the big leagues, and he will join the Twins in Atlanta on Friday when they play the Braves. Still working his way back from Tommy John surgery last summer, Keaschall could be limited to designated hitter duties for the Twins at the outset. The Minnesota Star Tribune reported the news of his promotion on Thursday. 4/16/25 | Twins to place Wallner on injured list with hamstring strain, believe Correa's sore wrist is minor. The Minnesota Twins will place right fielder Matt Wallner on the 10-day injured list with a strained left hamstring, after avoiding a long-term absence for shortstop Carlos Correa with his sore left wrist. Wallner was held out of the 4-3 victory over the New York Mets on Wednesday, after he felt tightness in the muscle while running out an infield hit in the first inning the night before. The Twins removed shortstop Willi Castro from the game with mild tightness in his right oblique, sending Mickey Gasper to pinch-hit for him in the eighth. Correa took over in the field, but his place in the order didn't come up. Source: https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/baseball/... |
4/15/25 | Minnesota Twins Fan Support Hits Historic Low in Monday Loss to New York Mets. The Minnesota Twins lost 5-1 to the New York Mets on Monday night at Target Field, dropping to 5-12 on the season. The Twins are in fourth place in the American League Central and they would be looking even worse if not for the presence of the Chicago White Sox in the same division. The Twins mustered just three hits, with Matt Wallner getting two of them. Byron Buxton and Carlos Correa are both hitting under .180 for the season and Royce Lewis continues to be hurt. 3/27/25 | Rocco Baldelli structures Twins lineup to avoid using too many pinch hitters. “If you said, 'Hey, if you can get Matt Wallner 40 more plate appearances this year by hitting him in the leadoff spot, would you think about doing that? Do you think that might be a good idea?' There's more to account for, but I like that idea,” Baldelli said. “He's been a really good hitter the last couple of years. … I think he's going to get on base a lot. I think he's going to have quality plate appearances on the regular, and I think he's going to hit some balls hard, too.” Source: https://www.startribune.com/minnesota-twins-pinch-... |
