4/03/25 Pirates Trade Catcher to Braves. The Pittsburgh Pirates sent one of their position players off to another MLB team. The Pirates announced that they traded catcher Jason Delay to the Atlanta Braves for cash considerations, amongst a number of moves. Pittsburgh designated Delay for assignment on April 1, as they added right-handed pitcher Thomas Harrington to the 40-man roster and optioned right-handed pitcher David Bednar to Triple-A Indianapolis to make room for Harrington on the Pirates 26-man active roster.

3/18/25 Pirates Send Catcher to Triple-A. PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates made a number of moves, including sending one of their players down to the minor leagues. The Pirates announced that they optioned catcher Jason Delay to Triple-A Indianapolis. They also reassigned infielders Darick Hall and Alika Williams, infielder/outfielders Nick Solak and Matt Gorski, outfielder Bryce Johnson, right-handed Yohan Ramírez and catcher Abraham Gutierrez to minor league spring training. This brings down the spring training roster down to 42 players. We have optioned C Jason Delay to Triple-A Indianapolis.
