First, it was All-Star shortstop CJ Abrams, who was dealing with a strained right hip flexor. In a corresponding move, the team optioned Trey Lipscomb back to Triple-A Rochester. The Washington Nationals activated shortstop CJ Abrams from the injured list Thursday and optioned third baseman Trey Lipscomb to Triple-A Rochester. Abrams, 24, last played on April 11 when he departed in the fourth inning with a right hip flexor strain. In 11 games this season, he was batting .244 with four home runs and seven RBIs. In four seasons with the Nationals, Abrams is a career .246 hitter with 44 home runs and 157 RBIs. He was named a National League All-Star last season. Lipscomb, 24, was 2-for-4 in three games this season. All-Star shortstop CJ Abrams rejoined the Washington Nationals from the 10-day injured list before their game against the Baltimore Orioles on Thursday. Infielder Trey Lipscomb was optioned to Triple-A Rochester to make room for the 24-year-old Abrams on the active roster. Abrams was batting .244 with a .585 slugging percentage, an .874 OPS, four homers, seven RBIs and four steals in 11 games when he went on the IL on April 12 with a strained right hip flexor.
