4/21/25 Pirates Outfielder Continues Struggles From Plate. The Pittsburgh Pirates have an important piece in their outfield struggling immensely from the plate this season. Jack Suwinski had his worst night from the plate this season for the Pirates in their 10-7 loss vs. the Cleveland Guardians at PNC Park on April 18. Suwinski would also strikeout in the bottom of the ninth inning with two runners on and two outs, ending the game with a loss, where a hit could've kept the Pirates chance at completing the comeback going while a home run would've tied it.

4/16/25 Pittsburgh Pirates Make History With Lackluster Slash Line to Open Season. Whatever momentum the Pittsburgh Pirates' lineup gained by beating the Washington Nationals 10-3 on Monday was nowhere to be found on Tuesday. The Pirates got shut out 3-0, going 4-for-31 at the plate with one walk and zero extra-base hits. Outfielders Jack Suwinski and Tommy Pham, plus catcher Henry Davis, were the only Pittsburgh batters to reach base safely in the loss. Now sitting at 6-12 on the season, the Pirates are batting .195 with a .280 on-base percentage and .293 slugging percentage as a team.

4/15/25 Pirates Make Multiple Changes vs. Nationals. The Pittsburgh Pirates made a change to their outfield, ahead of their second game vs. the Washington Nationals at PNC Park. Jack Suwinski will start in left field and hit fifth in the lineup for the Pirates after not playing in the series opener. This is his third time starting in left field, last doing so vs. the St. Louis Cardinals at home on April 8, and his 10th start of the season. Tommy Pham will move to right field from left field and take Andrew McCutchen's place.

3/08/25 Pirates Experimenting with Two New First Base Options. The Pittsburgh Pirates have looked for their full-time first baseman for 2025 and have tried many different options. Austin Bechtold of 93.7 The Fan said that Pirates play-by-play commentator Greg Brown reported that catcher Endy Rodríguez and outfielder Jack Suwinski both played first base during an intrasquad scrimmage game on March 7. Rodríguez has played catcher for the Pirates since he arrived in a three-team trade from the New York Mets on Jan. 19, 2021, which involved the Pirates sending right-handed pitcher Joe Musgrove to the San Diego Padres.
