4/03/25 Yankees beat Diamondbacks in series finale. Geraldo Perdomo's grand slam in the seventh inning was not enough as the New York Yankees held on to beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-7 on Thursday to avoid a series sweep. The D-backs got in a hole early, trailing by as many as six runs in Thursday's game and were unable to overcome the deficit. In his second start of the season, pitcher Merrill Kelly got off to a rocky start in the first inning. After giving up a double to Ben Rice and walking Cody Bellinger, Kelly surrendered a three-run home run to Aaron Judge.

3/29/25 Diamondbacks, young core share risk in contract extensions. If the player thinks he can make more money in arbitration, why sign an extension? There is evident risk for both sides, and the Arizona Diamondbacks have entered that world with three members of their young core this spring. The Diamondbacks extended 25-year-old shortstop Geraldo Perdomo, 23-year-old reliever Justin Martinez and 26-year-old starter Brandon Pfaadt with agreements that buy out their arbitration eligibility. “There's always a balance to how these things get get done,” general manager Mike Hazen said on Friday.

2/18/25 Diamondbacks, shortstop Geraldo Perdomo agree to $45 million, 4-year deal that starts in 2026. Slick-fielding shortstop Geraldo Perdomo has agreed to a $45 million, four-year contract with the Arizona Diamondbacks that begins in 2026. The deal announced Tuesday includes a club option for 2030. Perdomo, who could have become eligible for free agency following the 2027 season, will make $2.55 million this year after being eligible for salary arbitration for the first time. The 25-year-old was an All-Star in 2023, the same year he helped the Diamondbacks reach the World Series. He missed a big chunk of last season with a torn meniscus in his right knee and hit .273 with three homers over 98 games.
