4/08/25 | Cardinals' breakout star gets unfortunate injury timetable after scary incident. The St. Louis Cardinals have placed catcher Ivan Herrera on the 10-day injured list due to a bone bruise in his left knee, according to the Associated Press. Herrera got hurt on Sunday in the first game of a doubleheader with the Boston Red Sox, and is expected to be out for four weeks. To fill the void, the Cardinals are expected to use Pedro Pages for the majority of the time that Herrera is out, while Yohel Pozo was brought up from Triple-A as well. Initially, Herrera was unable to put weight on his left leg and needed to be helped off the field before further testing, which came out clean, and was a relief for Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol. 4/07/25 | Cardinals' Ivan Herrera exits with 'left knee inflammation'. St. Louis Cardinals catcher Ivan Herrera was injured running the basepaths Sunday and had to exit the team's 5-4, 10-inning loss against the Red Sox in Boston in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Herrera was unable to put weight on his left leg while leaving the game. The Cardinals called the injury “left knee inflammation” in an update afterwards. The four-year pro required assistance walking off the field in the third inning after reaching base on a walk, then making it to third on a Nolan Arenado single to left. A popout ended the inning and scoring threat, at which point manager Oliver Marmol and trainer Adam Olsen helped Herrera reach the dugout. 4/02/25 | Cardinals club Angels behind 3 HRs from Ivan Herrera. Ivan Herrera hit three home runs to lift the host St. Louis Cardinals to a 12-5 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Wednesday afternoon, avoiding a sweep by winning the finale of the three-game series. Herrera hit a solo homer in the fourth inning, a two-run homer in the sixth, and his three-run homer in the eighth capped a seven-run outburst that broke open a close game. It was the first three-homer game by a Cardinal since Paul Goldschmidt hit three in May of 2023. Logan O'Hoppe's grand slam in the seventh inning gave the Angels a 5-3 lead, but the Cardinals rallied against the Angels' bullpen with two runs in the seventh to tie the game and seven in the eighth.
