1/30/25 Texas Rangers' bullpen ripe with both opportunity for pitchers, questions for Bruce Bochy. He's new here, but, gosh, Jacob Webb talks like he knows a thing or two about the Texas Rangers already. β€œA bullpen,” Webb said Saturday during a winter caravan stop at Rough Riders Field, β€œis a weird and crazy place sometimes.” Here's a crash-course refresher for proof: Texas' bullpen two seasons ago was the worst in baseball before it became ironclad in the postseason and, last year, it was bottom-five again despite an incredibly formidable 1-2 punch in the eighth and ninth innings.

12/17/24 Former Angels Pitcher Cut By AL West Rival. The Texas Rangers made room for former Los Angeles Angels reliever Jacob Webb by designating another former Halo for assignment. Webb needed a 40-man roster spot and the Rangers cut ties with right-hander Roansy Contreras before he ever appeared in a game with Texas. Contreras is leaving the Rangers' roster just six weeks after joining. Texas claimed him off waivers from the Angels early in the offseason, but it was always possible he wouldn't remain on the roster through the winter.

12/16/24 Former Angels Pitcher Signs With AL West Rival. The Texas Rangers have announced that they've reached an agreement with right-handed pitcher and former Los Angeles Angel Jacob Webb on a one-year contract for the 2025 season. Webb spent part of the 2023 season with the Angels, going 1-1 in 29 relief appearances. The reliever was acquired off waivers by the Baltimore Orioles from the Angels in August 2023 and delivered a strong performance during his year-and-a-half with the American League East team. Over 22 innings, he recorded a 3.27 ERA and struck out 23 batters after joining the club.

12/13/24 5 things to know about new Rangers reliever Jacob Webb: A lefty specialist. The Texas Rangers made the first of potentially many bullpen moves this offseason by signing veteran reliever Jacob Webb to a one-year deal. Be the smartest Rangers fan. Webb has played for three major league clubs throughout his five-year career.

12/12/24 Texas Rangers Add Another Bullpen Arm in Jacob Webb, But Backend Help Remains Club's Most Pressing Need. Say this for Texas Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young: He competes with the same determination in the front office executive as he did on the pitching mound. Young and general manager Ross Fenstermaker added another much-needed pitcher in right-hander Jacob Webb to the roster on Wednesday, the third and final day of the MLB Winter Meetings at the Anatole Hotel in Dallas. Webb, 31, spent the past two seasons in the Baltimore Orioles bullpen, compiling a 3.02 ERA in a career-high 60 appearances with 58 strikeouts in 56 2/3 innings in 2024 while going 2-5 with two saves and 14 holds as the Orioles' primary set-up man.
