3/10/25 Diamondbacks Fall to Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers in Glendale. The Arizona Diamondbacks fell to their NL West rival Los Angeles Dodgers by a score of 6-2 on Monday in Glendale. The Diamondbacks were set up with an early deficit from the get-go, as right-hander John Curtiss was unable to finish the first inning. Curtiss, who had been pitching exceptionally well this spring so far, understandably struggled against Shohei Ohtani and the top of the Dodgers' major league lineup. It went double, single, double for Curtiss to open the game, with Ohtani, Tommy Edman and Freddie Freeman all racking up base hits and giving LA a 2-0 lead.

3/05/25 Unsung D-backs' Reliever Tweaking Arsenal to Compete for Roster Spot. Right-handed reliever John Curtiss wasn't exactly high on the Arizona Diamondbacks' list of potential big league arms coming into camp, but the veteran has been putting together a very solid Cactus League so far. The D-backs signed Curtiss to a minor league deal this offseason, in a move to bring veteran relief depth to their minor league system. The righty has certainly struggled to find a permanent home in his career; if he cracks Arizona's major league roster, it'll be the eighth club he's pitched for since 2017.

2/22/25 Ketel Marte Drives Home Sole Runs in Diamondbacks Defeat. The Arizona Diamondbacks fell flat in a 9-3 loss to the Rockies on Saturday. It was a lesser-known pitching matchup in Arizona's second spring training game of the year. For the Diamondbacks, it was former Rockie John Curtiss towing the slab. The right-hander, a minor league signee, worked one strong inning, throwing 94-95 mph on his 4 seam fastball, and 90 mph on his cutter.
