4/15/25 Paul Sewald, Jakob Junis emerge as key contributors in Guardians' bullpen. The Cleveland Guardians' 5-1 homestand showcased not just improved starting pitching but a bullpen renaissance led by two veteran additions who weren't necessarily expected to shoulder such significant loads. On the latest Cleveland Baseball Talk Podcast, hosts Joe Noga and Paul Hoynes broke down the surprising impact of Paul Sewald and Jakob Junis, highlighting how they've stabilized a bullpen that seemed potentially vulnerable heading into the season. “These guys have gone out there and they've taken the ball every time Stephen Vogt has needed them and they've been effective, and in a lot of ways highly efficient as well, allowing them to come back and really preserve the back end of that bullpen that saw so much work last season,” Noga observed early in the discussion, pointing to their reliability factor.

3/04/25 Cal Raleigh Hits a Home Run Against Former Seattle Mariners Pitcher Paul Sewald. Many media members and fans were outspoken about the players that the Seattle Mariners did and didn't acquire in the offseason. One of those players was former Seattle closer Paul Sewald. Unlike their time together with the Seattle, Raleigh was looking to hit Sewald's offerings rather than catch them.

2/13/25 Former Key Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Signs in Japan. Last month, the Cleveland Guardians signed pitcher Paul Sewald, which resulted in the team having to make a move to clear room on the 40-man roster. The Guardians decided to remove Pedro Avila, who refused a minor-league assignment and hit the free-agent market as a result. Well, Avila has found a new team, and it is not in the United States. 2/01/25 Guardians Given Solid Grade for Recent Free Agent Signing. The Cleveland Guardians had the best bullpen in MLB during the 2024 season. Even though the Guardians didn't need to add to that depth, they made the decision to sign veteran reliever Paul Sewald to a one-year deal . In a recent article, Zachary D. Rymer of Bleacher Report gave this free agent signing for the Guardians a grade of a "B." "The Guardians didn't really need another reliever, but Sewald has the potential to further elevate what was a historically good bullpen in 2024. It was a lost season for him, but he had previously been a top-tier strikeout artist with an unhittable fastball ," wrote Rymer.
