4/22/25 Yankees turn to Carlos Rodon to avoid being swept at Guardians. The Cleveland Guardians succumbed to the New York Yankees in last season's American League Championship Series, but already got a measure of redemption in 2025. Looking for a sixth straight win, the Guardians aim to sweep this three-game set from the visiting Yankees on Wednesday. The Guardians have made the most of their chance to modestly avenge losing the 2024 ALCS to New York in five games. Following Monday's 6-4 victory, the Guardians overcame a 2-0 deficit by scoring three runs in the sixth to win 3-2 on Tuesday.

4/19/25 Yankees' Carlos Rodon sheds light on key to dominant outing vs. Rays. Carlos Rodon didn't have his sharpest stuff Friday night, but the New York Yankees ace still delivered his grittiest performance of the season in a 1-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Rodon struck out nine, walked four, and allowed just two hits over six shutout innings, escaping multiple jams with a mix of sinkers and sliders. It marked the first time in five starts he kept the ball in the park, a milestone that manager Aaron Boone called β€œan important part of his success path.” β€œI think it's just one of those things where I can't give in,” Rodon said after his outing vs. the Rays.
