4/22/25 Phillies' Rob Thomson has one-word response to concerning Aaron Nola trend. The Philadelphia Phillies have to start worrying at least a little bit about starting pitcher Aaron Nola. Which would be terrible news, because the Phillies still owe him $24.6 million every year from now until 2030. Nola's latest outing actually lowered his ERA, but he took the loss against the New York Mets after allowing four earned runs over 6 1/3 innings. After Monday's game, manager Rob Thomson was asked if Nola could still be effective pitching at 90 miles per hour, which is close to his average four-seam fastball velocity this season (91.1 mph, per Baseball Savant).

4/21/25 Phillies the Slightest of Favorites at -115 to Win Road Series with Mets. The Phillies head to Citi Field for a three-game set with the Mets that pits the two best teams in the National League East against each other. The Phils are a slight -115 favorite on the series money line at DraftKings. The reason you can hot take the series as a litmus test is because the Phils are throwing Aaron Nola, Cristopher Sanchez, and Zack Wheeler, in that order.
