4/25/25 Former Detroit Tigers infielder announces retirement. Former Detroit Tigers infielder and utility man Niko Goodrum has retired from baseball at age 33. Goodrum had been playing for the New York Mets' Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse, which announced the retirement this week. Goodrum confirmed the news on his Instagram account. Although he was part of eight MLB organizations and played in the big leagues for five teams, his longest tenure came with the Tigers.

4/24/25 Infielder From Houston Astros 2022 World Series Team Announces His Retirement. A former Houston Astros infielder has decided to hang up the cleats after a seven-year MLB career. The MLB transaction log shows that utility man Niko Goodrum, most recently with the New York Mets Triple-A affiliate, has decided to retire from the sport of baseball. Goodrum was a great defender and very promising utility man, but never really broke out to become the player that he showed flashes of being.

1/24/25 Angels News: Former LAA infielder goes to Padres; former reliever claimed by Yankees. A couple of members of the 2024 Angels have found new homes, as the Angels have purged many members of their 99-loss roster. Niko Goodrum is technically one of those members, even with his 4 games played last season being the fewest of any Angels position player.

1/22/25 Padres Sign Former Top Prospect Utility Man in Free Agency. Utility infielder Niko Goodrum has signed a minor league deal with the San Diego Padres, as per his MLB.com profile. It's unclear whether the deal includes an invitation to big league spring training. Goodrum, 33, was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the second round of the 2010 MLB Draft and made his debut in 2017.
