12/15/24 Former Chicago Cubs Slugger Patrick Wisdom Signs Deal With KBO Team. For a while, it looked like Patrick Wisdom was going to be a major part of the Chicago Cubs. The former 52nd overall pick of the 2012 draft by the St. Louis Cardinals never quite found his footing in Major League Baseball, bouncing around to two other clubs before he signed a deal with the Cubs during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign that saw him appear in just two MLB games for them. Wisdom became a fan favorite in 2021, slashing .231/.305/.518 with 28 home runs and 61 RBI across his 108 games that earned him a fourth place finish in NL Rookie of the Year voting. The power hitter looked like he was going to finally reach his potential in Chicago, giving them a lethal home run threat while also having the ability to play third and first base in the field.

11/21/24 The Chicago White Sox should bring this former Cubs fan favorite to the Southside. Patrick Wisdom is no longer going to hit home runs at Wrigley Field, but that does not mean he should stop crushing dingers in Chicago. The Chicago White Sox lineup needs hitters who can put the ball in the air, and now that Wisdom has been let go by the Cubs, this a cost-effective veteran the Southside team should sign. Wisdom's slash line was not great in 2024 (.171/.237/.392), and he hit just eight home runs. His advanced stats were still good for a power hitter. It is better when you compare his barrel or hard-hit percentage to Andrew Vaughn. Wisdom would be a much better first-base option for the White Sox in 2025 than Vaughn because Patrick can put the ball in the air.
