4/03/25 | Former Angels Outfielder Takes Massive Shot at Halos After Joining AL West Rival. A former outfielder on the Los Angeles Angels recently made comments that do not paint his former team in the best light. Current Texas Rangers outfielder Kevin Pillar spoke to Kennedi Landry of MLB.com about how he was expected to retire at the end of 2024, but then inked a minor league deal in Texas that turned into an Opening Day Roster spot. Pillar spent time with two of the least-winningest teams in the league last season as the Halos lost a franchise record 99 games, and the Chicago White Sox finished with the most losses in MLB since 1900, at 121. 3/27/25 | Kevin Pillar makes immediate impact in Rangers debut vs. Boston on opening day. The commute from Kevin Pillar's house in Argyle to his new workplace on Stadium Drive took more than an hour each of the last few days. “To end up in this chair,” Pillar said Thursday from the comfort of the cushy seats inside the Globe Life Field home clubhouse, “you've got to earn it.” Pillar, 36, signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers one month ago, was named to the opening day roster Tuesday and started in center field Thursday vs. the Boston Red Sox. Last year Pillar was cut midseason by the historically bad Chicago White Sox and ended his season with the last-place Los Angeles Angels. The man dubbed “Superman” during his time with the Blue Jays appears to be right in his belief that he had more to give, as it was announced today that he has cracked the Rangers' Opening Day lineup. Pillar spent parts of seven seasons with the Blue Jays, during which time he hit .260 with 55 home runs and 231 RBIs. Source: https://dailyhive.com/toronto/toronto-blue-jays-pi... |
