When Max Fried returned to the Yankees dugout following the seventh inning of Sunday's game, he and his teammates followed the time-honored ritual. Fried was the starting pitcher and he had worked seven scoreless innings. Saying “no-hitter” out loud would be considered a jinx. The New York Yankees have gotten through the first month of the season by the skin of their teeth, dealing with injuries to the starting rotation.
