3/15/25 Brandon Drury feeling, looking like old self in White Sox camp. To have that 2022 and '23 version of Brandon Drury, now that would be something. Thirty-six spring training at-bats does not an “I'm back” make, but Drury, after going 12-for-33 (.361/.395/.806) with three homers, seven doubles and 11 RBI in 12 games for the White Sox this spring, feels a lot like his old self and nothing like the 2024 version that saw him bat .169/.242/.228 in 360 plate appearances with the Angels. After he had slogged through the worst year of his season, he was not tendered a contract and the Sox, taking swings in all directions for minor league free agents and inviting them to spring training, came calling. Drury saw an opportunity to play and get his career percolating again.

Joey Gallo and James Karinchak are trending toward getting cut. By Todd Welter | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article The Chicago White Sox brought a lot of players into spring training. It made sense to do that considering this team is coming off a historic losing season in 2024. Why not kick the tires on as many failed prospects and possibly washed up veterans to see if there is still something there? There is nothing to lose and everything

9/28/24 Angels’ Brandon Drury is ‘hungry’ to correct the mistakes that led to a ‘brutal’ season. Drury says he changed his swing last winter in an effort to produce more exit velocity and the results were too much extra movement. A free agent this winter, Drury says he will go back to his old swing as he tried to return to form next season.

6/30/24 Possible Angels trade chip running out of time as ailments have derailed 2024 season. At this point, the Los Angeles Angels have to be taking stock of every player that they could feasibly trade at the deadline and figure out if they can get a decent enough return for them to warrant making a move. While guys who have team control beyond this season represent an entirely different approach and thought process, 2024 should be considered a lost season and that means any pending free agents need to be given a long, hard look before the deadline passes. One such pending free agent is Brandon Drury, who, under normal conditions, could have been an interesting trade candidate at the deadline. With an $8.5 million salary in the last year of his contract this season, he is also affordable for cash-strapped contenders.

6/27/24 Angels' Brandon Drury making progress but remains out with illness. Brandon Drury is making progress with an upper respiratory illness that has worked its way through the clubhouse, yet he still missed his seventh consecutive game on Thursday. Manager Ron Washington confirmed that the illness has affected multiple Angels players, with Drury seemingly taking it the hardest. “If he doesn't have a relapse and we're going in the right direction,” Washington said about Drury, who last played June 18. Had the Angels placed Drury on the IL immediately, he would have been eligible to return Sunday.

6/04/24 Angels News: Brandon Drury Without Timetable for Return. The Los Angeles Angels have been without their utility player Brandon Drury, for nearly a month.
