4/17/25 MLB Writer Floats Insane Cardinals-Mets Trade Idea. It's just April but trade speculation already is in mid-season form. The St. Louis Cardinals have played 18 games so far this season and is 9-9 so far. St. Louis' rotation has been solid with a 3.91 ERA -- despite Miles Mikolas' 9.00 ERA -- and the offense has been one of the best in baseball in the league. While this is the case, trade speculation just won't seem to stop.

4/15/25 Cardinals Expert Addresses Chance Of Shakeup With Ex-All-Star. The St. Louis Cardinals have played 16 games so far and if you were to scroll social media at points you would think that the season was in the dog days of the summer with all of the takes and trade chatter out there. St. Louis is just about 10 percent of the way into 162-game season which sounds like a lot, but there are still 152 games to be played including at least 1,368 innings left in the regular season barring extra innings. There's a lot of time left and the Cardinals have been better than expected, frankly. One guy who has been talked about a lot, though is starting pitcher Miles Mikolas.

4/04/25 Has Cardinals 2-Time All-Star Turned Corner After Rough Year?. The St. Louis Cardinals had a lot of questions for the starting rotation throughout the offseason. There were rumors running rampant, but the Cardinals didn't make any big subtractions and now they have a surplus of talent at the big league level and in the minors. One guy that was interesting to follow throughout the offseason was two-time All-Star Miles Mikolas. While this is the case, he looked good in Spring Training and that carried over into his first start of the season.

3/31/25 Miles Mikolas aims to continue Cards' fast start in clash vs. Angels. St. Louis Cardinals right-hander Miles Mikolas is in the final season of a three-year, $55.75 million contract, so he faces an uncertain future with his team in transition. Mikolas will be the subject of trade speculation between his first start Monday night, against the visiting Los Angeles Angels, and the July 31 trade deadline. The Cardinals cleared out veterans and cut payroll during the offseason, so they might trade other proven players for prospects ahead of the deadline. "If I have my way, the Cardinals would be playing great baseball by then and we're adding guys instead of getting rid of them," Mikolas told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

12/08/24 Cardinals Urged To Cut Ties With $55M All-Star In Winter Meetings Deal. The St. Louis Cardinals surely will be one of the more interesting teams to watch over the next week or so at the Winter Meetings. St. Louis has been in a plethora of trade rumors of late and it wouldn't be shocking to see at least something get done at the Winter Meetings. It is one of the most active times of the Major League Baseball calendar and the Cardinals want to trim salary. FanSided's Andrew Heckroth made a list of three contracts the club should try to offload at the Winter Meetings and suggested a trade involving All-Star hurler Miles Mikolas.

8/26/24 3 prospects Cardinals must promote for playoff stretch run. After missing out on the playoffs last year, the St. Louis Cardinals are fighting to reach the postseason in 2024. The team is trying to bounce back from an uncharacteristic losing season in 2023, the Cardinals' first losing season since 2007. St. Louis is 65-65 entering play on Monday.

8/17/24 Here's why the Cardinals leaned on Miles Mikolas against the Dodgers, and how it went wrong. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol tried to wring one more out from starting pitcher Miles Mikolas' start against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday night. Marmol desperately wanted to get his starter through the sixth inning and keep the club's slim lead intact. Dodgers star Mookie Betts got a hold of a Mikolas pitch for a solo home run, but then Mikolas got within one out of getting through the frame with a one-run lead.
