4/25/25 | Bochy reflects on Giants memories with Posey, Crawford in return. As he returned to face the Giants in San Francisco on Friday, Bruce Bochy was in a tie for first place in the American League West, but he had a lot on his mind. The Texas Rangers have underperformed at the plate, led by familiar face Joc Pederson, who somehow has zero RBI through 21 appearances. On Thursday, they got walked off in Sacramento by the Athletics, and a day after that gut punch, Bochy began his media session by giving a lengthy update on promising young starter Kumar Rocker, who just went on the IL with a shoulder injury. The Rangers have a lot to sort out, but Bochy is thrilled he's doing it in San Francisco this weekend. Source: https://www.nbcsportsbayarea.com/mlb/san-francisco... |

4/22/25 | Rangers' Joc Pederson in worse hitless drought than you could ever imagine. Joc Pederson is in the worst slump possible. The once-proud MLB slugger is now playing for the Texas Rangers, and he's entirely unable to find himself even a solitary hit. You truly couldn't guess how long Pederson's hitless drought it. There's no way it could be this lengthy. Just how many at bats has Pederson gone without a hit? Forty. Yep, he's 0 for his last 40. That's unfathomable. This is a guy with 890 major league hits. He hit .273 last year. This year, it's down to .052 and dropping. Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Pederson could go 20 for his next 40 and would still be batting below his career average with a .234 just below his .238. 4/20/25 | Texas Rangers' Struggling Slugger Off to Incredibly Bad Start at Plate. The Texas Rangers are off to a pretty good start to their 2025 campaign. Despite the team's hot start though, there is one hitter in the lineup that has gotten off to an absolutely awful start at the plate. Joc Pederson, who signed a two-year $37 million deal with the Rangers this past offseason, was brought on by the Texas front office to provide some much needed pop in a lineup that struggled in that department last season. Unfortunately for the Rangers, their new addition hasn't exactly lit it up at the plate so far. Source: https://www.si.com/mlb/rangers/news/texas-rangers-... |
4/16/25 | Multiple Teams Listed as Potential Candidates for Former Texas Rangers Reliever. With the Texas Rangers off to a strong start to the season, the franchise is hopeful of continuing their winning ways throughout the year. In 2024, the Rangers were never able to get off the ground after winning the World Series the campaign prior. While the additions of Joc Pederson and Jake Burger were the notable ones to the lineup, the bullpen also saw a ton of changes. Due to some payroll constraints and trying to be mindful of the luxury tax, the Rangers opted to let go of a couple of key members of the bullpen. 4/11/25 | Mired in career-worst start, Texas Rangers' Joc Pederson looks for freedom at the plate. This is how bad Joc Pederson's start has been: Not even the miracle of the torpedo bat provided help. The Rangers designated hitter began Friday mired in the worst start of his career. It's not the equipment, Pederson said. “I've not had a lot of quality at-bats,” Pederson said Friday. Source: https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/rangers/2025/04/... |

Intriguingly enough though, they have been prolific when it comes to hitting home runs, as they are tied for No. 8 in the league there with 11 of them. 3/21/25 | Bruce Bochy gets brutally honest on Rangers' secret weapon. The Texas Rangers are betting big on a bounce-back year offensively, and the centerpiece of that revival could be their newest designated hitter, Joc Pederson. After a dismal showing at DH in 2024, the Rangers are counting on Pederson to help bring some much-needed pop back to the lineup — and manager Bruce Bochy isn't sugarcoating how critical his presence will be. “We were really missing that last year, no doubt,” Bochy said. “We just didn't get the production that we needed from a DH spot.” Source: https://clutchpoints.com/mlb/texas-rangers/bruce-b... |

2/07/25 | Projection Systems Disagree on How Texas Rangers Will Perform This Season. The Texas Rangers were on top of the world after winning the final MLB game of the 2023 season, bringing home the franchise's first World Series Championship. Things came crashing down in 2024 with the Rangers playing to only a 78-84 record, missing out on the playoffs completely. It has been a somewhat active winter in Arlington with the additions of Joc Pederson and Jake Burger for the offense, while adding a plethora of arms in the bullpen. Projection systems have still had a hard time coming to an agreement for how this club will fare, however, with PECOTA giving Texas a 76.5% chance of making the playoffs and Fangraphs putting their chances at only 59%. This offseason, they have made a few key moves, with their biggest one being the addition of Joc Pederson. Fortunately, Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report believes Texas could be a feasible landing spot for All-Star closer Carlos Estevez. According to the New York Post's Jon Heyman, the Mets tried to sign Joc Pederson before he eventually joined the Texas Rangers on a two-year, $37 million deal. "The Mets were willing to go two years for Joc Pederson (but not the $37M he got from Texas) and looked at Teoscar Hernandez in case the Dodgers deal everyone expected fell through (he got $66M, $58.1M after deferred monies are calculated, over three)," wrote Heyman.
