4/25/25 Francisco Lindor's Hot Streak Powers Mets at Home. The New York Mets host the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday at Citi Field, with the first pitch at 7:10 p.m. EDT. The Mets, led by Francisco Lindor's recent offensive surge, have won five straight home games and hold a 16-7 overall record, including 10-1 at home. The Phillies, second in the division at 13-10, enter with a 4-6 road record. In Monday's series opener, Lindor hit two home runs—one leading off the first inning and another in the seventh, a three-run shot that gave the Mets a 5-0 lead.

4/25/25 Reese Kaplan -- How Sabermetrics Changed Lineup Construction. Yes, we now have Designated HItters in both leagues. What is perhaps a bit slower for us to resolve in our heads is how batting orders are now created as compared to say 30 years ago. If you grade players on various offensive abilities on a scale of 1-5 with ratings being assigned for their batting average, their home run power, their ability to draw walks and how well they steal bases, it would appear that lineups are now constructed very differently. Look no further than the current New York Mets lineup to see that they took a guy who is a positive across the board in all of these categories and inserted him not in the middle-of-the-lineup run producing position, but instead you have Francisco Lindor leading off games which means his first at-bat is a bit of a giveaway in terms of driving in runners.

Lindor now has the third-most multi-home run games playing shortstop out of anyone, and he passed Trevor Story for third on the list in the game against the Phillies.

4/22/25 Lindor slams Phillies again and buries memory of slow start in 2024. Francisco Lindor is off to a smashing start for a change, and he picked up right where he left off against the Philadelphia Phillies. The star shortstop stayed red-hot by homering twice and finishing with four RBIs as the New York Mets held off their NL East rivals 5-4 in the opener of a three-game series Monday night. New York extended its division lead to three games over Philadelphia in the first meeting between the teams since last October, when the Mets eliminated the Phillies from the playoffs with a 4-1 victory in Game 4 of their Division Series at Citi Field. Lindor delivered the knockout blow in that one with a sixth-inning grand slam.
