4/25/25 Nolan Arenado Reportedly Begging to Play for Dodgers. St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado is reportedly begging to play with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

4/25/25 Cardinals' Nolan Arenado Makes Opinion On Playing Future Very Clear. The St. Louis Cardinals still have one of the best third basemen in baseball in Nolan Arenado. To go along with this, Arenado has also been phenomenal defensively, but that isn't too shocking. Arenado recently turned 34 years old and took part in an interview with MLB.com's Bill Ladson. "I'm happy to have that discussion," Arenado said when asked if he's a Hall of Famer.

4/23/25 Has Nolan Arenado played himself back onto the trading block? Why early returns may be good news for Cardinals. The Cardinals were unable to trade Arenado in the offseason, but maybe not all hope is lost

4/22/25 Cardinals notes: Wins needed, No. 2 in hits, owner indicted. Tuesday marks the second game of a three-game series against the Atlanta Braves for the St. Louis Cardinals. The Redbirds have lost five in a row after being swept in four against the New York Mets and a “close, but no cigar” loss Monday to the Braves 7-6. Despite a three-run 9th inning jolt that put the Cardinals within one run of tying the game, every bit of suspense was quickly shut down by Nolan Arenado's half-swing that forced the ball land on home plate — which is fair territory — and the veteran third baseman was tagged out to secure the win for Atlanta. Scott Blewett is the Braves' last-minute starter for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

4/22/25 MLB rumors: Cardinals will have 'long list' of Nolan Arenado trade options if they do 1 thing. Compared to where Nolan Arenado and the St. Louis Cardinals were in the offseason, not a ton has changed. St. Louis is still in rebuild mode, Arenado is still making a ton of money and both teams can still benefit from parting ways. Of course, if it was that easy, the Cardinals would have traded Arenado months ago. Because it's never too early to start looking ahead to the 2025 trade deadline, ESPN.com did exactly that, and summed up where the team and eight-time All-Star stand.

4/21/25 Yankees trade proposal ends biggest need by landing eight-time All-Star. At some point over the next few months, the New York Yankees will have to make a decision on Nolan Arenado. The team has shown interest in him over the past few months, and with Oswaldo Cabrera and Oswald Peraza splitting time at third base, it isn't going to be in the Yankees' favor. Peraza and Cabrera are decent players, but to say they're anything close to Arenado would be utterly unfair to the Future Hall of Famer. With Peraza and Cabrera slowing down a bit over the past few weeks, Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media suggested that the Yankees trade for Arenado, adding that his hot start should intrigue them.

4/20/25 Padres Could Cardinals' $260 Million Star After Scary Luis Arráez Injury. The St. Louis Cardinals have reportedly been looking to trade their $260 million third baseman Nolan Arenado. Sadly, for the Cardinals, Arenado's massive contract and no-trade clause has made it quite difficult for them to move him in a deal. The six teams are the San Diego Padres, Los Angeles Angels, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Boston Red Sox, and Philadelphia Phillies.

4/18/25 Cardinals Linked To Ridiculous Blockbuster Trade Chatter. There is some pretty wild trade speculation already building across Major League Baseball. The St. Louis Cardinals can't seem to get out of trade chatter no matter what they do, but some of it has been pretty ridiculous. It's no secret that the Cardinals tried to make moves this past offseason and specifically wanted to trade Nolan Arenado. If he's going to get moved this season, it would significantly more likely than not happen closer to the trade deadline than April 18th.

4/17/25 Cubs Trade Idea Lands Them Cardinals Nolan Arenado. A Chicago Cubs trade idea has them acquiring St. Louis Cardinals star Nolan Arenado.

4/15/25 Arenado and Donovan help the Cardinals beat the Astros 8-3. Nolan Arenado homered and Brendan Donovan went 4 for 4, helping Sonny Gray and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Houston Astros 8-3 on Monday night. Donovan extended his hitting streak to 10 games. Gray (3-0) pitched seven scoreless innings. The Cardinals have won Gray's last eight home starts dating to last season.

4/14/25 Cards back Sonny Gray's scoreless start, pound Astros. April 15 - Nolan Arenado had a homer, two doubles and two RBIs to lead the St. Louis Cardinals past the visiting Houston Astros 8-3 on Monday. Brendan Donovan went 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI triple for the Cardinals, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. Pedro Pages hit a two-run double for St. Louis, which collected 14 hits and has won three of its last four. Lars Nootbaar went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. Cardinals starter Sonny Gray (3-0) blanked the Astros for seven innings on three hits. He struck out four and walked one. Jeremy Pena provided Houston's scoring with a three-run homer. Astros starter Framber Valdez (1-2) allowed seven runs (six earned) on 10 hits in four-plus innings.

4/10/25 Yankees-Cardinals surprising trade idea involves 8-time All-Star. The New York Yankees have gotten off to a solid start to begin the 2025 Major League Baseball season. New York is 7-5 on the season so far even with all of the injuries that have plagued the organization. Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller released a column in which they identified "clear needs" for 10 franchises and floated players who could fix these holes through trades. While this is the case, Miller floated St. Louis Cardinals superstar Nolan Arenado as an option to fix third base for New York.

4/06/25 Cardinals' catcher Iván Herrera leaves against Red Sox with apparent left leg injury. St. Louis Cardinals catcher Iván Herrera was unable to put weight on his left leg and had to be helped off the field after running the bases in the third inning in the first game of a day-night doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. Herrera went from first to third on a single into the left-field corner by Nolan Arenado. When Luken Baker fouled to first to end the inning, manager Oliver Marmol and an athletic trainer helped Herrera to the dugout, where he got assistance down the steps to the clubhouse.

4/06/25 Are the Cardinals rebuilding or trying to win now? It's complicated. Jesse joined ESPN Chicago in September 2009 and covers MLB for ESPN.com. When the rain finally lifted after a 90-minute delay and the St. Louis Cardinals opened their season in front of 47,395 red-clad fans at Busch Stadium, two long-familiar sights were a bit of a surprise to anyone who followed the offseason rumor mill: Nolan Arenado coming out of the home dugout for a curtain call after a home run and Sonny Gray shutting down the opposition in a Cardinals uniform. There was a feeling across the industry that the Cardinals could be a major storyline when the offseason began and that both players could be wearing new uniforms by Opening Day. One of MLB's storied franchises was embarking on a stated reset as it transitions from longtime executive John Mozeliak to former Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox exec Chaim Bloom, who is waiting in the wings to take over in 2026.

4/04/25 Nolan Arenado reminded of what could've been as Red Sox, Alex Bregman beat Cardinals in 2025 home opener. Arenado was linked to the Red Sox in trade rumors this winter, but Boston ultimately signed Bregman

4/04/25 Red Sox's Trevor Story Addresses 'Weird Situation' Ahead Of Home Opener Vs. Cardinals. The Boston Red Sox's search for a third baseman this past winter was well documented. If the Red Sox couldn't have had Bregman, though, they were on the verge of trading for St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado.

4/03/25 Cardinals Predicted To Cut Ties With All-Star Barring 'Surprise'. The St. Louis Cardinals have been pretty solid to begin the 2025 Major League Baseball season. St. Louis is 4-2 and currently is sitting atop the National League Central standings. The Cardinals got back in the win column on Wednesday as they took down the Los Angeles Angels, 12-5. While this is the case, ESPN ranked them at No. 19 in the current power rankings and Alden Gonzalez even said "at some point" third baseman Nolan Arenado will be "elsewhere" unless the Cardinals can keep winning.

4/02/25 Cardinals predicted to move on from $260 million All-Star by end of 2025. The St. Louis Cardinals are 3-2 through the first five games of the 2025 season, which is better than most expected thus far. The Cardinals had planned a "reset," but it all centered around a possible trade of Nolan Arenado, which fell through in December when he declined a trade to the Houston Astros. When ranking the Top 100 players in Major League Baseball, ESPN had Willson Contreras at 96th and predicted that soon he'll be anchoring the lineup, while Arenado goes elsewhere.

3/31/25 Longtime Dodgers Trade Target Was About to Be Dealt Last Month. The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired numerous stars this offseason, but the defending champions had been linked to one player in particular that made it known he wanted to be traded to L.A. Third baseman Nolan Arenado was on the trade block all winter long, and it was evident his preferred trade destination was Los Angeles. St. Louis Cardinals insider John Denton revealed Arenado was unwilling to go anywhere else until getting a firm 'no' from the Dodgers.
