4/24/25 How to Build A Young Rotation And Make It Last. The White Sox have got to be looking at the Nats' rotation right now going 'here's what we COULD be'. Cause if their rotation can be hindered by Martin Perez going down with an injury, they need to be taking notes. Right now, the Washington Nationals, in their moment of patheticness as they wait for James Wood and Dylan Crews to run the team, have arguably one of the strongest rotations in baseball, and the majority of it is made up of young, strong hurlers. Many of them are homegrown, like both Mitchell Parker and Cole Irvin.

4/23/25 Davis Martin's penchant for long starts big boost for Sox' pitching staff. Wednesday was the first time the White Sox had to cover left-hander Martin Perez's turn in the rotation. Perez, who had been a model of consistency with a 3.15 ERA in 20 innings, was put on the 60-day injured list Monday with soreness in his left forearm. Wilson began the season as a reliever but has 52 starts under his belt.

4/20/25 White Sox put Martin Perez (elbow) on 15-day IL. The Chicago White Sox placed Martin Perez on the 15-day injured list Saturday and recalled fellow left-hander Jared Shuster from Triple-A Charlotte. Perez left Friday's game against the Boston Red Sox after three innings with left elbow inflammation. He allowed five hits on his 52 pitches, one of which was the first of two three-run homers by Trevor Story in Chicago's 10-2 loss. “We need Martin,” White Sox manager Will Venable said on Friday night. “We need the things that he does on the mound, the things that he does in the clubhouse.” Perez, 34, is 1-1 with a 3.15 ERA in four starts this season, his first with the team since signing a one-year, $5 million contract. 4/13/25 Fun-loving Martin Perez setting the tone for Sox' rotation. Martín Pérez's belief that big things are possible for the 2025 White Sox might put him in the minority. Pérez has a sub-2.00 ERA, even after giving up a couple runs Saturday against the Red Sox. “He's constantly talking to the pitchers,” pitching coach Ethan Katz said Sunday.

Making the correct pick in the Rule 5 Draft was also good. Tendering two players new contracts was not a good decision. By Todd Welter | Share on Facebook Share on X Copy Article Duane Burleson/GettyImages Share on Facebook Share on X Share on Reddit Copy Article Prev 1 of 3 Next The Chicago White Sox did not make a ton of moves to upgrade a roster that lost a record 121 games in 2024. With revenue streams shrinking due to the debacle of the team's regional sports network being rolled out, CHSN, the Sox had a frugal offseason. That does not mean general manager

3/01/25 Rotation pushing to be strength for White Sox, who sure could use one. Look around the White Sox roster, and if it's a strength you're searching for, it probably can be found in the starting rotation. While that might not be saying much – the Sox were easily the worst hitting team in the majors last season and did little in the offseason to improve the offense, and the bullpen blew leads on a regular basis – the Sox' young group of starting pitchers, along with veteran left-hander Martin Perez, looks good enough to hold its own. The starters say they don't know who will get the Opening Day nod but Jonathan Cannon, Martin Perez and Davis Martin have all thrown their hats in the ring.

2/13/25 White Sox have no clear choice to start Opening Day but Martin Perez believes in team. Martin Perez wants no part of gloom and doom surrounding the White Sox, who will be challenged to avoid a third straight 100-loss season. “Believe, man,” Perez said Wed. “This team finished well last year, we have good pitchers, good arms, they just need to figure out how to get guys out.” Seeing is believing, and Perez, a new Sox, didn't see first-hand what 121 losses looked like in 2024.

2/08/25 High on prospects and low on payroll, White Sox head to spring training with low expectations for 2025. Veteran left-hander Martin Perez is the White Sox' highest-paid free agent of the offseason at an affordable $5 million in 2025. Perez won't sell tickets during a season that figures to be one of the Sox' worst at the gate. Reinsdorf — after seeing his $203 million payroll in 2022 (the seventh-highest among teams, according to Spotrac) produce an 81-81 record — watched attendance sag with his deplorable product on the field the last two seasons and is saving cash and rebuilding for the second time since 2016. The Sox' payroll in 2025 is estimated at $79.7 million, higher only than the Marlins' $76.3 million.

1/21/25 White Sox ink LHP Martin Perez, DFA RHP Ron Marinaccio. The Chicago White Sox and left-handed starting pitcher Martin Perez finalized a one-year, $5 million contract on Tuesday. The deal includes a mutual option for 2026. Perez, 33, joins his fourth team in three seasons after splitting 2024 between the Pittsburgh Pirates and San Diego Padres. Pittsburgh dealt him to San Diego at the trade deadline. Perez was a first-time All-Star in 2022 with the Texas Rangers, when he pitched to a career-best 2.89 ERA with a 12-8 record and one shutout in 32 starts. He went 10-4 the next year as a part-time starter and helped Texas win the World Series. In 314 career appearances (269 starts) with the Rangers (2012-18, 2022-23), Minnesota Twins (2019), Boston Red
