3/03/25 Colorado Rockies RP Jeff Criswell Set to Undergo Tommy John Surgery, Miss 2025. Right-handed relief pitcher Jeff Criswell is slated to undergo Tommy John surgery, the Colorado Rockies announced Sunday. The surgery will knock Criswell out for the entire 2025 season, costing the club a potential key bullpen arm. The blow comes just one week ahead of Criswell's 26th birthday. Criswell's procedure is scheduled for March 14 with Dr. Keith Meister, the Texas Rangers' team physician for the past 22 years and one of the most prominent elbow surgeons in baseball.

9/04/24 Braves' Whit Merrifield rips Rockies' Jeff Criswell, state of MLB pitching, after getting hit in the head. Rockies rookie reliever Jeff Criswell cut loose with a 94.5 mph fastball in the seventh inning Tuesday night. The pitch got away from the right-hander and hit Braves second baseman Whit Merrifield in the back of the head. After the Braves' 3-0 victory, Merrifield let loose a torrent of criticism about the “pathetic” state of major league pitching. “It's bulls—; it's driving me nuts,” Merrifield told reporters in Atlanta. “I hate where the game is at right now with that.”
