4/25/25 Should San Francisco Giants Offer Top Prospects to Braves for All-Star Slugger?. The San Francisco Giants are off to a much better start to the 2025 MLB season than pretty much anyone expected, which now means they are more in play for ever for an in-season trade. ESPN's David Schoenfield (subscription required) recently made a trade deadline preview for the Giants, which included prospects James Tibbs III and Dakota Jordan as their top trade candidates.

3/15/25 SF Giants' Eldridge scratched from Spring Breakout, Roupp discusses 13-strikeout outing. The Giants will display some of their top prospects on Saturday night as part of Major League Baseball's “Spring Breakout,” a list of names featuring Carson Whisenhunt, James Tibbs III and Jhonny Level, among plenty others. Bryce Eldridge, the Giants' top prospect, will miss the exhibition against the Texas Rangers' top prospects due to left hand soreness.

8/16/24 San Francisco Giants Linked to World Wood Bat Record Holder in Latest Mock Draft. James Tibbs III is already a Top 100 prospect in baseball and he was selected in the first round by the San Francisco Giants just last month. First baseman Bryce Eldridge, a former prep star from Vienna, Va., was the Giants' first-round pick in 2023 and he's already the No. 1 prospect in the organization and playing for High-A Eugene. Bleacher Report recently projected what next July's draft would look like with a first-round mock draft. The site had the Giants picking No. 14 overall, which would mean no playoffs for San Francisco.

When MLB Pipeline dropped its latest Top 30 prospect list for the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday it took on a different look. Yes, first baseman Bryce Eldridge was still at the top and led three Giants prospects into the Pipeline's Top 100 players. But, San Francisco had six new players in the Top 30, thanks in part to its work in the draft, on the trade market and even through minor-league signings. 7/25/24 First-Round Pick Signs Huge Deal With San Francisco Giants. The San Francisco Giants have signed Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III, their first-round pick, to a contract, as reported by MLB Pipeline . Tibbs was the No. 13 overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft. With that selection his pick carried a slot value of $5.272 million. San Francisco was able to get him for several hundred thousand under slot, as he signed for a reported $4.747 million. Tibbs and the Seminoles reached the College World Series this June, where Baseball America rated him the No. 3 player among those at the annual national championship in Omaha, Neb. The left-handed hitting Tibbs was a three-year star for the Seminoles, who entered the CWS with the best stat line of his career.

7/24/24 San Francisco Giants Waiting for Next Top 100 Prospect. The MLB Draft offered Baseball America the chance to reset its Top 100 prospects in Major League Baseball. It was a chance for the San Francisco Giants to score a player on that list. The publication didn't list a single Giants prospect among its Top 100. Because the list included players that were just drafted, there was a chance the Giants' first-round pick, Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III, could have made the list.

7/17/24 San Francisco Giants Receive Surprising Middling Draft Grade After Generally Solid Draft. The San Francisco Giants didn't have a lot of capital in the 2024 draft. Along with selecting an MLB Pipeline top 15 prospect, they also drafted five other top 250 prospects, including one that is being considered a steal. At 13 overall, the Giants took Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III. Tibbs won ACC Player of the Year after a huge breakout in his junior season. The outfielder hit .363 while racking up 28 homers and 95 RBI with a 1.264 OPS, all of which were career highs.

7/14/24 SF Giants select Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III with No. 13 draft pick. The Giants added a left-handed bat with their lone pick on Day 1 Sunday of the Major League Baseball Draft, selecting Florida State outfielder James Tibbs III. Tibbs, 21, hit 55 home runs in 176 games over three seasons at Florida State, hitting .338 with an OPS of 1.147. In winning the Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year as a junior, Tibbs hit .363 with 28 home runs and 95 RBIs in just 66 games. The last Florida State product selected in Round 1 by the Giants was catcher Buster Posey in 2008. It was the highest draft pick for the Seminoles since that selection at No. 5 overall. The Giants did not have picks in the second and third rounds because free agents Matt Chapman and Blake Snell
