4/26/25 Texas Rangers Young Star Is Only Continuing To Improve After Stint on Injured List. The Texas Rangers have impressed many people so far this spring with their quick start to the season, sitting at 15-11 and atop the American League West. One of the most notable injuries throughout the first few weeks was to their young star outfielder Wyatt Langford, who has become one of the most crucial parts of the team over the course of his first season in the MLB. In 2024, he would slash .253/.325/.415 with 74 RBI, 74 runs, 16 home runs, and 115 strikeouts to 54 walks. This success in what was his rookie season would give the Rangers hope that he could become one of the best players on the team long-term, and in 2025, it seems that may already become the case.

4/19/25 Why Rangers opted to hold off activating Wyatt Langford from IL on Saturday. The Texas Rangers will wait another day to get their full-strength lineup together. On Saturday, the club decided to hold off a day on activating outfielder Wyatt Langford from the IL after two games of rehab. Langford, who went 2 for 6 with a homer and a pair of walks at Double-A Frisco, has been on the IL since April 9. It has simply become the Rangers' customary practice to give a player a rest day between even a short rehab assignment and activation.

4/17/25 When will Wyatt Langford, Jack Leiter return to the Texas Rangers?. Texas Rangers outfielder Wyatt Langford will make a pit stop at the farm before he returns to the big league roster. Right-handed pitcher Jack Leiter may follow him on a similar path. Langford, who's been sidelined since April 9 with an oblique strain, started a rehab assignment with the Double-A Frisco Rough Riders Thursday night in anticipation of his impending activation from the injured list. The 23-year-old started at designated hitter for the Rough Riders Thursday and is expected to play the outfield Friday.

4/15/25 Rangers' Bruce Bochy offers positive update on looming Wyatt Langford, Jack Leiter returns. The Texas Rangers could make their first trip to the Athletics' new home at Sacramento's Sutter Health Park next week with a full stable of stars. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said that outfielder Wyatt Langford (oblique strain) and right-handed pitcher Jack Leiter (blister) are “both doing well” and could each potentially return to the major league roster within the week. Leiter will throw a live bullpen Thursday at Globe Life Field and, if all goes well, will be cleared to start once he's eligible to come off the injured list Friday. Bochy said that it's still unclear whether Leiter's next start will be at the major league level or on a minor league rehab assignment.

4/11/25 Texas Rangers Utility Man Named 'Biggest Difference-Maker' Amid Hot Start. The Texas Rangers have gotten off to a nice start to this season despite a middling performance from the offense. Levi Weaver of The Athletic gave third baseman/utility man Josh Smith a shoutout as their biggest early "difference-maker" thanks to his strong early results. The pitching deserves the most credit for the early start, but Smith has been the biggest difference-maker on the offensive and defensive sides. Among position players, he is tied for the team lead in fWAR with the currently injured Wyatt Langford.

DeGrom allowed two hits in five shutout innings, lifted after nearing his pitch count at 73. Langford's opposite-field homer off rookie Richard Fitts (0-1) barely cleared the wall in the right-field corner. Two batters later, García blasted an 0-2 sweeper into the second deck in left field. The Red Sox scored twice in the sixth inning off Shawn Armstrong (1-0), one run unearned, to take the lead. Wilyer

3/25/25 Top 30 Texas Rangers prospects: Where Sebastian Walcott, others rank ahead of 2025 season. In a recent rundown of talent in major league farm systems, ESPN's Kiley McDaniel picked a provocative word to describe the Texas Rangers organization: Volatile. MLB Pipeline had the Rangers taking a tumble from seventh overall to 26th, part of which was due to the graduations of Wyatt Langford and Evan Carter from prospects to certified major leaguers.

3/22/25 Texas Rangers Youngster Proving Why Sophomore Slump May Just Be a Myth. When the Texas Rangers selected Wyatt Langford in 2023, they had their reasons. In the midst of what turned out to be a World Series championship season, the organization knew there was a chance it wouldn't be selecting early in the 2024 MLB draft. The Rangers, led by president of baseball operations Chris Young, didn't know just how quickly Langford's star would ascend. Sure, he had a solid rookie season.

3/19/25 The Evan Carter conundrum: Texas Rangers, Bruce Bochy face tricky decision on young lefty. Bruce Bochy has a big lineup playing around in his big head, and he hopes it'll play bigger than last year's. The lineup, not the head. Wyatt Langford should finally answer the question of who's hitting third. Joc Pederson probably forces Adolis García to take one step back out of clean-up, at least against right-handers. Be the smartest Rangers fan.
