3/20/25 Red Sox helped catcher from Yankees trade by involving pitching department. Red Sox catching instructor Parker Guinn said Carlos Narvaez has “an incredible track record as a defender at the minor league level.” “He was one of the top, if not the top defender in Triple A last year,“ Guinn said. The Red Sox got their pitching department involved to try to improve Narvaez's mechanics.

1/30/25 NESN pitches a few reunion options for Red Sox that fans will mostly oppose. There are just over two weeks left until pitchers and catchers start reporting to spring training, and Boston fans are still waiting for the Red Sox to make a serious addition to the lineup. Aside from getting Carlos Narvaez in a trade from the Yankees, all of the players Boston has either signed or traded for have been pitchers. The Red Sox have been connected to both Alex Bregman and Nolan Arenado this offseason, but no one actually knows what's going on with Bregman's market, and Arenado seems destined to stay in St. Louis.

1/28/25 Red Sox newcomer from Yankees trade 'ready,' was Jason Varitek fan. New Red Sox catcher Carlos Narvaez's cousin Omar Narvaez has played in 677 games over nine major league seasons for the White Sox, Mariners, Brewers and Mets. Carlos, a native of Venezuela, grew up admiring his cousin, a catcher who is eight years older than him. “I loved Jason Varitek; how he took (a) leadership (role), too," Narvaez said at the Red Sox Rookie Development Program on Jan. 14.

1/09/25 Red Sox C acquired in trade with Yankees to participate in rookie program. The Red Sox invited seven players, including recent trade acquisition Carlos Narvaez, to participate in their 2025 Rookie Development Program this coming week. Boston acquired Narvaez, a 26-year-old catcher, from the Yankees in exchange for pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz on Dec. 11. The deal also included the Red Sox sending $250,000 of international bonus pool space money to New York. All the members of the Red Sox' “Big Three” — outfielder Roman Anthony, shortstop Marcelo Mayer and infielder/outfielder Kristian Campbell — will attend the camp.

12/30/24 Red Sox's new catcher acquisition likely to take the backup spot. The Boston Red Sox have pretty much solidified their catching situation, per Chris Cotillo. According to him, the Sox will likely have new catcher acquisition Carlos Narvaez be their backup. Hopefully, Narvaez works with catching coach Parker Quinn and former Sox player-turned-coach Jason Varitek to improve his big league game, and be a competent backup to Connor Wong.

12/12/24 Yankees land pitching prospect Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz from Red Sox in trade. The Yankees, who were deep in catching, cleared that jam by sending Carlos Narvaez to the Red Sox in exchange for righty Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz and international bonus pool space for this year (and not for 2025, which would have helped in the club's chase for Roki Sasaki ). Rodriguez-Cruz, 21, reached High-A last season and posted a combined 2.91 ERA in 89 ²/3 innings in which he struck out 102 batters. The Yankees acquired Elmer Rodriguez-Cruz in Red Sox trade. TheDugoutDynasty/YouTube Rodriguez-Cruz becomes the Yankees' 12th-ranked prospect, according to MLB.com . “After working at 91-95 mph with his fastball a year ago, Rodriguez-Cruz operated at 94-96 mph and topped out at 98 this April while

7/21/24 RAILRIDERS: Escarra keys extra-inning win over Buffalo. J.C. Escarra had quite a Triple-A debut Saturday night. Escara had four hits, including the tiebreaking double that ignited a five-run 11th inning and gave the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders an 8-3 win over the Buffalo Bisons at Sahlen Field in New York. Promoted from Double-A Somerset with catcher Carlos Narvaez up with the New York Yankees due to the injury to Jose Trevino, Escarra singled ...

7/13/24 Ben Rice or Carlos Narvaez as Yankees' No. 2 catcher? Here is Aaron Boone's take. Carlos Narvaez joined the Yankees from Triple-A on Saturday with three days of major league service time and no game action to share the catching duties with fellow rookie Austin Wells while Jose Trevino is sidelined. The Yankees aren't considering throwing first baseman Ben Rice into the mix even though the rookie's first position was catcher until this season. “No plans to alter what Bennie is doing,” manager Aaron Boone said before Saturday's Yankees-Orioles' game at Oriole Park. The Yankees were pressed into calling up Narvaez with Trevino put on the 10-day injured list with a left quad strain that occurred on a slide into home plate in the ninth inning of a 4-1 victory.

6/25/24 Bobby Dalbec's multi-blasts help WooSox fend off Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (video). Heading into the bottom of the ninth inning on Tuesday night, the Worcester Red Sox needed three more outs to start the second half of their season in the win column. It was a nail-biting moment as Carlos Narvaez of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders cut their deficit in half with a one-out home run to left field. Jose Rojas then represented the game-tying run with an infield single, adding to the game's intense drama. But the momentum was shortlived, as Lucas Luetge struck out Jeter Downs and forced an infield pop-out against Taylor Trammell to ensure Worcester sealed an eventual 6-5 win against the RailRiders at PNC Field. Less than one week since the Boston Red Sox optioned Bobby Dalbec

6/08/24 Warren helps RailRiders shut out Norfolk. No one was happier to see the calendar turn to June than Will Warren. After a rough month of May, the New York Yankees No. 7 prospect appears to have regained his early season form. The righthander combined with two relievers on a five-hit shutout as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders blanked the Norfolk Tides, 10-0, on Friday night at PNC Field in Moosic.
