3/28/25 Why Posey believes Harrison still has 'bright future' with Giants. When the Giants lined up at Great American Ball Park on Thursday, two of their best young starting pitchers were announced. Kyle Harrison will start the season with Triple-A Sacramento, but the Giants still believe he'll have plenty of opportunities to start games at the big league level this season. President of baseball operations Buster Posey said before the opener that right now they want the lefty to focus on his development. "We think the world of Kyle," Posey said.

3/22/25 Why Giants' Kyle Harrison didn't make Opening Day roster. Kyle Harrison is supposed to be a key part of the San Francisco Giants' starting pitching rotation, but the organization and fan base are still waiting for his emergence. The young left-hander's omission from the Opening Day roster is surprising at first glance, but Pavlovic explains why this move is perfectly reasonable. While it is obviously terrible luck for the 23-year-old to experience this sickness, especially at the onset of spring training, it might explain some of his recent struggles.

2/20/25 Matos, McCray or Marco? Competition for SF Giants' fourth outfield spot remains open. The Giants don't have a ton of true positional battles as they enter Cactus League games. Kyle Harrison and Hayden Birdsong headline the battle for the fifth rotation spot, the former having the edge over the latter. “I don't really see it as competition,” said outfielder Grant McCray. McCray might be teammates with the likes of Luis Matos and Marco Luciano, who converted from infield to outfield this winter, but by definition, they will be directly competing with one another to win a spot on the Opening Day roster.

10/18/24 What Does Future Hold for High-Upside, Injury Prone San Francisco Giants Pitcher?. The future looks to be quite bright for the San Francisco Giants when it comes to their starting rotation. 8/28/24 SF Giants reportedly put players on waivers as playoff hopes take another hit in loss to Brewers. Ostensibly, the Giants are still in a playoff race. On the field, they couldn't recover from five runs leveled against Kyle Harrison and fell back to .500 in a 5-3 loss to the Brewers. Hours earlier, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported the team had placed a trio of veterans — relievers Taylor Rogers and Tyler Matzek and second baseman Thairo Estrada — on irrevocable waivers, making them available to any team willing to pay the remainder of their salaries. Estrada has been one of the majors' worst hitters this season, but his defensive acumen at second base and $4.7 million salary could make him an attractive bench piece for a contender looking to shore up their middle infield.
