4/25/25 Marlins' 6-run 5th too much for Mariners to overcome. Jesus Sanchez's home run capped a six-run fifth inning and the Miami Marlins went on to defeat the host Seattle Mariners 8-4 on Friday night in the opener of a three-game series. Agustin Ramirez, called up from Triple-A Jacksonville earlier in the week, went 2-for-4 with a double and his first major league homer for the Marlins, who have won four of their past five games. Xavier Edwards had two hits and two RBIs for Miami.

After suffering a left oblique strain in spring training, Miami Marlins outfielder Jesus Sanchez was activated from the 10-day injured list and will make his season debut Tuesday in the series opener against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. The game went 10 innings and was won in the top of the tenth when Jesus Sanchez brought in the only run of the game. Jesus Sanchez was 2-for-4 and hit a tape-measure homer as the host Miami Marlins beat the Chicago Cubs 6-3 on Sunday afternoon to split their four-game series. In doing so, Miami cooled off the Cubs, who had won six of nine games since a loss in Seattle on April 12. Sanchez started off the scoring in the top of the second inning by crushing a 460-foot homer to straightaway center off Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks -- the majors' third-longest homer of the season behind Mike Trout (473 feet) and Ketel Marte (461 feet), per Statcast.

Jesus Sanchez hit a bloop, opposite-field, walk-off single in the 12th inning as the Miami Marlins rallied multiple times to defeat the visiting Philadelphia Phillies 9-8 on Wednesday night. The Marlins rallied from a 5-0 deficit in the sixth, then tied the score in the ninth, 10th and 11th innings before winning it in the 12th. A total of seven runs were scored after the ninth inning. Phillies heroes included Alec Bohm, who went 4-for-6 with three RBIs (including the go-ahead, run-scoring single in the 11th), and Brandon Marsh, who slugged a two-run homer in the top of the 10th.

The surprising Marlins, who closed the first half of the season in wild-card position at 53-39, also got home runs from Jesus Sanchez and rookie Dane Myers.
