Try it free WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Kodai Senga's performance improved as the innings progressed Sunday. By the seventh, the Mets right-hander still was bringing his fastball at 96 mph and breezing through the A's lineup. Maybe the only question was whether he would get a shot at least to start the eighth. That opportunity was denied by manager Carlos Mendoza, but Senga still finished with the best start by a Mets pitcher this season in the team's 8-0 victory in the series rubber game at Sutter Health Park. 4/01/25 Mack's Mets. The first thing that will absolutely need to happen for New York is that Kodai Senga must be healthy and dominant. As mentioned above, Senga was limited to less than six innings in the 2024 regular season. Senga broke onto the scene in 2023. With Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander both shipped away at the trade deadline that year, Senga went from the team's No. 3 starter to being the ace rather quickly, and deservedly so.

3/24/25 MACK - MY Tuesday Obvervations. Today, the major league player predictions and then Thursday morning, opening day, my overall thoughts on how the team will do. Kodai Senga is going to start off on a pitch count and, my prediction is he's not done winding up on the IL. In addition, I love what I'm seeing from our new members of the rotation, but this award goes to the steady, Eddie of this rotation… David Peterson. My Reliever Of The Year goes out to a new addition on the team.

3/20/25 Four Mets roster questions with Opening Day one week away. With one week left of spring trianing, the Mets have some roster decisions to make soon. AP Photos By Manny Gómez | NJ Advance Media for NJ.com PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — In one week, the Mets will head to Houston to face the Astros at Daikin Park. Unlike last spring training, when starter Kodai Senga was their only significant injury and third base was the only positional battle, this year New York is dealing with multiple injuries, creating competition up and down the roster. Right-hander Frankie Montas, who the Mets signed for two years, $34 million in December, fell to a high-grade lat strain in the first week of camp. Montas isn't expected to return until early June.
