4/09/25 Angels Manager Has No Plans to Move Red-Hot Young Hitter Up in Lineup. The Los Angeles Angels are witnessing things never before seen in franchise history during this already very special start to the season. Catcher Logan O'Hoppe hit a home run in four straight games before going 1-for-1 as a pinch-hitter in Tuesday's game. No other Angels backstop had ever completed that feat. Due to this recent home run-hitting bonanza, manager Ron Washington was asked about the prospect of moving O'Hoppe up in the lineup.

4/07/25 Angels trade proposal sends Mike Trout to National League powerhouse. Widely considered to finish near the bottom of the American League West, the Los Angeles Angels have gotten off to a surprising start in 2025. Young catcher Logan O'Hoppe looks like a potential building block with home runs in four straight games, while 23-year-old rookie Kyren Paris has batted .444 with a pair of longballs in his first eight games. The pitching staff, meanwhile, has received solid starts from youngsters José Soriano and Jack Kochanwicz, and relievers Kenley Jansen and Ben Joyce have each made four scoreless appearances. It also must be noted that the Angels haven't made the playoffs since 2014 and have made only modest offseason improvements after finishing with a 63-99 record last season.

4/07/25 Angels' offense stays hot in victory over Guardians. Red hot, even if he is not about to admit it, Logan O'Hoppe is putting a charge into an Angels' offense that has powered its way through opponents early in the season. O'Hoppe stretched his home run streak to four consecutive games and helped the Angels to a 6-2 victory over the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday with his offerings from both behind and alongside the plate.

4/06/25 Angels look to ride loud bats to series win vs. Guardians. Looking to build on recent offensive success, the Los Angeles Angels will aim to clinch their third straight series to begin the season when they host the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday afternoon in Anaheim, Calif. The Angels snapped a two-game skid with Saturday's 10-4 win over Cleveland. Los Angeles, which is averaging 7.5 runs over its last four games, launched four home runs in Saturday's victory -- including a two-run homer in the fifth inning by both Logan O'Hoppe and Mike Trout.

4/02/25 Angels' taxed bullpen falters late in loss to Cardinals. The Angels paid the price for what it took to win four straight games. After continually using their best relievers to help them secure that winning streak, the Angels were left with few bullpen choices in what became an ugly 12-5 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon. “Those guys were on fumes,” Angels manager Ron Washington said. The Angels (4-2) were in position to extend the winning streak after Logan O'Hoppe's grand slam in the seventh gave them a two-run lead.

3/30/25 MLB Insider Has 2 Bold Predictions for Angels' 2025 Season. The Los Angeles Angels got back into the win column Saturday to notch their first victory of the 2025 campaign. With 160 games to go, an MLB insider has high hopes for L.A. and major predictions for what else this year has in store. Despite the abysmal 63 wins, the Halos had four 20-home run hitters. Logan O'Hoppe, Jo Adell, Zach Neto, and Taylor Ward all made the mark in 2024, but ESPN insider David Schoenfield predicts that those four will once again reach the 20 dinger mark, in addition to Mike Trout and Jorge Soler as well.

3/05/25 Los Angeles Angels flamethrower Ben Joyce learning from Kenley Jansen. There may be no better way to develop a 6-foot-5 freak of nature who can hurl a baseball 105 mph than pairing him with one of the best closers of a generation, a player who has won on the game's biggest stage. “It's going to be sick,” said Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe.

2/25/25 Angels assistant pitching coach Sal Fasano, a former catcher, brings new perspective to the job. Logan O'Hoppe did not hold back when describing the impact he believes Sal Fasano will have on the collaboration of Angels pitchers and catchers. “He has completely changed the game and made a night and day difference with how things have been going, with the game planning and the simplicity of it all,” the Angels catcher of the team's new assistant pitching coach. Although spring training is the time for even the most downtrodden of teams to speak optimistically, the way that the Angels talk about Fasano goes beyond the normal cliches. “Tremendous,” said catcher Travis d'Arnaud, who worked with Fasano for five years with the Atlanta Braves.

2/13/25 Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe says he's better prepared this season. Logan O'Hoppe needed to get away from baseball to see things more clearly. The Angels catcher gave plenty of reason to be optimistic about his career when he hit 20 homers with a .712 OPS in his first full season behind the plate in 2024.

9/21/24 Angels fall to Astros, despite O'Hoppe's 20th homer. Catcher Logan O'Hoppe joined a relatively rare club for the Angels with his 20th home run, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep pace with the red-hot bats of the Houston Astros in Saturday's 10-4 defeat at Minute Maid Park. Entering Sunday's series finale, the Angels have now lost three straight to open this weekend's four-game set, and they've lost all six times they've played the Astros over a span of nine days. Houston (85-70) leads the AL West by five games with only seven left to play, while the Angels (62-93) remain mired in last place. It was the second straight game in which an Angels starter couldn't escape the third inning, and those extra innings to fill are increasingly taxing the bullpen, as well.

9/04/24 Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe says fatigue hasn't played a role in month-long slump. ANAHEIM — A little over a month ago, Angels catcher Logan O'Hoppe had two hits, including a homer, after he had two straight days off . After that game, he made a surprising admission. “I'm starting to grow up a little bit and understand that these days off help,” O'Hoppe said after the game on July 31. “I think that two days off in a row definitely did help. I felt pretty good tonight.” O'Hoppe had back-to-back days off again this week, and he hit a homer when he returned on Tuesday, but this time he had a different explanation. “I'm going back to my old ways and saying (the days off) didn't play a big part of it,” O'Hoppe said. “I think we hopped in the cage after the game (Sunday). We worked

8/13/24 Angels optimistic Logan O'Hoppe won't miss time vs. Jays. Logan O'Hoppe batted third in the Los Angeles Angels' lineup on Monday against the Toronto Blue Jays before being removed from the game after six innings because of soreness in his right knee. Angels manager Ron Washington, however, insisted it was a precautionary move and said he fully expects the catcher to be back in the lineup Tuesday when the teams meet again in Anaheim, Calif. Washington said he thinks he knows, even though O'Hoppe disagrees. O'Hoppe, who went 0-for-2 on Monday in Los Angeles' 4-2 loss to the Blue Jays, is hitless in his past 24 at-bats.

8/10/24 Angels' Logan O'Hoppe says slump is unrelated to fatigue or batting third. Long after many of his teammates had already eaten, showered and left the ballpark, Logan O'Hoppe was still grinding in the batting cage. The Angels catcher had gone hitless in five at-bats in a loss Friday, another game in his weeklong slump, and he'd had enough. “Not doing anything hasn't gotten me anywhere,” O'Hoppe said before Saturday's game. O'Hoppe is having one of the better offensive seasons among big-league catchers, but his numbers have declined during a 2-for-32 slump.
