4/16/25	Ryan Pepiot's Impressive Starts Streak Ends in Rays' 7-4 Loss to Red Sox. TAMPA, Fla — Tampa Bay Rays starter Ryan Pepiot got roughed up by the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night. He gave up six runs and nine hits — both career highs — in a 7-4 loss at Steinbrenner Field. That was very much out of character for Pepiot, who joined the Rays in early 2024 as part of the Tyler Glasnow trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He's been very good since arriving in Florida, going 17 consecutive starts allowing three earned runs or fewer before Tuesday night's outing ended the streak. How good was that run? With the win, the three-game series has been evened at one-game apiece. The Red Sox scored in each of the first four innings to build a 6-1 lead in the middle of the fourth, all of their runs coming off of starter Ryan Pepiot. The 27-year-old right-hander was among the 101 players who were awarded 2024 pre-arbitration bonuses, according to a list published by the Associated Press on Friday. This marks the third year that the league has gone through the process, splitting $50 million between the most accomplished players who have not yet reached salary arbitration.
