Outscored 28-6 during an 0-4 start, the Twins regrouped to earn their first victory of the season. After retiring the first two batters in the Minnesota sixth, Chicago rookie right-hander Shane Smith -- making his major league debut -- walked two straight Twins before being lifted for Penn Murfee. Jose Miranda began last season at Triple-A St. Paul, looking to prove himself after a shoulder injury held him back during his 2023 season. “When I came back in the second half, my moves didn't feel the same,” Miranda said. Now, as Miranda prepares for the upcoming season, he has two main goals: stay healthy and be in the lineup every day. Josh Jung’s infield single and a throwing error gave the Texas Rangers a 6-5 win over the Minnesota Twins in 10 innings on Sunday afternoon after the defending World Series champions trailed 4-0 going into the seventh. Jose Miranda fielded Jung’s one-out chopper off Jhoan Duran (6-6) and his throw to first base pulled Carlos Santana off the bag.
