4/25/25 The reason this Red Sox fan is crocheting a sweater in the stands will have you in stitches. When it comes to being the biggest supporter of pitcher Garrett Crochet, this Red Sox fan has it sewn up. Anna Gailbreath, a diehard Boston fan, has turned every Crochet start into a crochet day for the duration of the time that Crochet is on the mound. “I usually crochet during every game anyway, so I figured I might as well make it a little more thematically appropriate," Gailbreath said in an interview on NESN's pregame show on April 24.

4/25/25 Red Sox ace explains why ‘wrong approach’ to April success led to ‘passive’ tough start Thursday. An introspective Garrett Crochet explained why lamenting his successes during a dominant April wasn't the right approach after his worst outing in a Red Sox uniform Thursday.

4/24/25 Seattle Mariners Looking to Accomplish Something They Haven't Done in 11 Years of History. The Seattle Mariners will finish out a three-game series with the Boston Red Sox on Thursday afternoon at Fenway Park in Boston. If they can beat Boston on Thursday, they will accomplish not something not seen in the last 11 years of team history. The Mariners go for their first series win at Fenway Park since 2014, when they swept a 3-game series over the defending World Series champion Red Sox. The lengthy trip across the country, coupled with the overall strength of the Red Sox rosters, have proven very difficult for the M's to navigate, and it will be hard for Seattle to break the spell on Thursday as the Red Sox send ace lefty Garrett Crochet to the mound against Bryan Woo.

4/23/25 Red Sox Already Getting Interesting Wrinkle For 2026 Season. The Boston Red Sox are pretty loaded in the starting rotation right now, even though the team hasn't been at full strength yet. Boston's rotation is finally almost complete. Garrett Crochet, Tanner Houck, Walker Buehler, and Brayan Bello are all currently healthy and with the big league club. Neither Lucas Giolito nor Kutter Crawford are with the team.

4/22/25 Red Sox Sending Fan-Favorite To Minors After Rough Stretch. The Boston Red Sox's starting rotation is starting to come together. Boston's rotation has done a good job staying above water this season so far with Garrett Crochet, Tanner Houck, Walker Buehler, Sean Newcomb, Richard Fitts, and Hunter Dobbins. Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito, and Kutter Crawford began the season on the Injured List.

4/22/25 Why an Alcantara trade with Marlins should be on Red Sox' radar. The Boston Red Sox made significant investments in their starting rotation last offseason, acquiring Garrett Crochet in a blockbuster trade while signing Walker Buehler and Patrick Sandoval in free agency. Crochet has been lights-out (1.13 ERA through five starts), but the rest of the staff has been average at best; 2024 All-Star Tanner Houck has allowed 21 runs in 24.2 innings (7.66 ERA), while Buehler needed a Patriots' Day gem against the lowly Chicago White Sox to lower his ERA to 5.63. Sean Newcomb, Richard Fitts and Hunter Dobbins have had some success in spot starts but are stopgaps for injured starters Kutter Crawford and Brayan Bello, who both struggled with inconsistency in 2024.

4/21/25 Red Sox Might Pursue Rockies All-Star: 'Intriguing Roll Of The Dice'. The Boston Red Sox will likely be in the business of surveying the entire trade market for starting pitchers before July. Garrett Crochet has excelled thus far in 2025, but Tanner Houck has struggled mightily and much of Boston's expected rotation is rehabbing at the moment. Boston's chief baseball officer Craig Breslow would be wise to acquire another veteran starter. One under-the-radar name to keep an eye on for Boston is Colorado Rockies right-hander Germán Márquez, who promises to be one of the 10 most likely players to be traded this summer, according to a new piece from Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly.

4/20/25 Quinn Priester's early starts for Brewers show Red Sox should've given him a chance. Early in the 2025 season, the Boston Red Sox have struggled in a familiar area: pitching. It's hard to imagine where this pitching staff would be without Garrett Crochet, who has been the lone bright spot.

4/19/25 Red Sox P Garrett Crochet aims to shut down White Sox again. Boston Red Sox left-hander Garrett Crochet has paid immediate dividends since signing a six-year, $170 million contract extension this season. Crochet, 25, is 2-1 with a 1.38 ERA and an 0.88 WHIP. Red Sox fans may not have seen the best version of Crochet, either. Crochet was throwing a no-hitter until Chase Meidroth -- of the four prospects Boston sent to Chicago for Crochet -- singled with one out in the eighth inning.

4/18/25 Red Sox Tabbed As 'Logical Players' For $56 Million Ace. The Boston Red Sox have have some great pitching depth on paper but the organization hasn't been able to fully see it yet on the field. Boston's rotation when fully healthy will feature Garrett Crochet, Walker Buehler, Tanner Houck, Brayan Bello, Lucas Giolito, and maybe Kutter Crawford as well. To this point, Bello, Giolito, and Crawford have yet to take the mound with Boston.

4/17/25 Red Sox Named Top Trade Destination For $56 Million Ace To Pair With Garrett Crochet. After a memorable trade for a starting pitcher this winter, will the Boston Red Sox repeat the feat before the July deadline? Garrett Crochet has been everything the Red Sox could have asked for through four starts, posting a 1.38 ERA in 26 innings. The Red Sox have dealt with injuries on top of ineffectiveness, and suddenly, it doesn't look as though the rotation is as much of a strength as they may have hoped or thought it would be. On Tuesday, MLB Network hosts discussed the Red Sox as a potential trade fit for Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcantara, who will be the biggest name teams are chasing this summer if he finds anything close to his 2022 Cy Young Award form.

4/16/25 Red Sox fans pinning hopes on returning pitcher amid Tanner Houck's horrendous start. The Boston Red Sox's starting rotation hasn't looked too hot to start the 2025 season. Garrett Crochet seems to be the only arm holding the pitching staff together. Walker Buehler had been his 2024 Dodgers self in his first two outings for Boston, but found his playoff alter-ego in his most recent start against the Blue Jays, when he pitched 6.1 one-run innings with seven strikeouts. Something has changed for Tanner Houck, who posted a breakout season with a 3.12 ERA over 30 starts last year.

4/15/25 Why Red Sox’ Alex Cora has ‘never been so happy’ as when Garrett Crochet’s no-hit bid ended. Everyone at Rate Field was disappointed when Garrett Crochet's no-hit bid was broken up in the eighth inning Sunday. Alex Cora, however, was relieved.

4/15/25 Alex Bregman's defense has made a mockery of Red Sox offseason firestorm. Reporters, analysts and fans were high on the 2025 Boston Red Sox after the team's first big offseason in nearly half a decade. Boston traded for Garrett Crochet and signed Alex Bregman to take its squad to the next level with elite talent on all sides of the baseball. Crochet may be one of the only Red Sox living up to his end of the bargain, though. The Red Sox have gone through a particularly rough stretch since their commanding sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals from April 4-6.

4/14/25 Red Sox manager 'happy' after White Sox end Garrett Crochet no-hit bid. Boston Red Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet is dealing like an ace so far this season. The 25-year-old lefty is 2-1 with a phenomenal 1.38 ERA through four starts and has continued his form against the Chicago White Sox. Through seven innings on Sunday, Crochet was on pace for his first career no-hitter. Unfortunately, White Sox catcher Matt Thaiss ended that bid with an RBI single in the seventh.

4/14/25 Garrett Crochet reacts to near no-hitter for Red Sox in revenge outing vs. White Sox. The Boston Red Sox managed to avoid getting swept by the Chicago White Sox on Sunday, picking up a much-needed 3-1 victory thanks in large part to a stellar outing from Garrett Crochet. Facing his old team, Crochet got a sweet taste of revenge, twirling 7.1 innings of no-hit action before Chase Meidroth logged Chicago's first hit of the game with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning. In his fourth start for Boston, Crochet showed why the team recently handed him a mammoth six-year, $170 million contract extension. Crochet was mowing down his former teammates all day long, as he racked up 11 strikeouts while giving up the aforementioned hit and one walk along the way.
