4/13/25 Rays Waste Great Rasmussen Start, Blow Late Lead in 5-4 Loss to Atlanta. Saturday's game with the Atlanta Braves started with such promise for the Tampa Bay Rays, but it ended ugly. Drew Rasmussen was terrific in his third straight start, pitching five scoreless innings and allowing just four hits with a walk and a season-high seven strikeouts. The 29-year-old right-hander, who has given up just one run in 15 innings, left with a 2-0 lead. The Rays, still leading 2-0, opened the inning with the two walks and an infield single.

3/31/25 Finding success at their temporary home, Rays open series with Pirates. Fully recovered from an elbow procedure that cost him much of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, Tampa Bay right-hander Drew Rasmussen will return to the rotation for good Monday night when the Rays open a three-game home series with the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rasmussen, 29, was shut down on May 12, 2023, due to a forearm strain and was eventually lost for the season after undergoing his third career major elbow procedure. Rasmussen yielded nine earned runs and 25 hits in 28 2/3 innings with 35 strikeouts and six walks. Rasmussen has no decisions and a 3.68 ERA in five relief appearances against the Pirates.

The Charlotte Sports Park is home to the Tampa Bay Rays for the next six weeks for Spring Training, but after that they don't actually get to go home. “It's a really fun opportunity,” Rays pitcher Drew Rasmussen said. Hurricane Milton ripped the roof off of Tropicana Field back in October making it unsafe to host games this season and forcing the Rays to play their home games outdoors in Tampa at Steinbrenner Field, the New York Yankees Spring Training facility.

Right-hander Drew Rasmussen and the Tampa Bay Rays avoided salary arbitration, agreeing to an $8.5 million, two-year contract. Rasmussen's agency, the Beverly Hills Sports Council, announced the agreement Tuesday and said it included an option that had the potential to make the deal worth $28 million over three seasons. A 29-year-old right-hander, Rasmussen had been set to exchange proposed arbitration salaries with the Rays on Thursday.

7/22/24 Tampa Bay Rays' Drew Rasmussen, Recovering From Elbow Surgery, Shines in Rehab Start. Drew Rasmussen underwent a hybrid internal brace procedure on his right elbow on July 24, 2023. A full year later, the Tampa Bay Rays pitcher is back on the mound and gearing up for a return to the big leagues. Rasmussen, who has been on the 60-day injured list since before the 2024 season even started, made his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Durham on Sunday. As noted by Just Baseball's Aram Leighton, Rasmussen tossed a 99 mile-per-hour fastball to the first batter he faced, showing that his 12-month absence did not do much to hurt his velocity.
