Corner outfield was a huge problem area for the Royals in 2024, and they've so far done next to nothing to address that problem headed into the new season. Unless minor-league signee Cavan Biggio gives them something unexpected, the odds now would be in favor of the Royals' starting outfield looking awfully similar to the one they ended the year with. The San Francisco Giants signed Cavan Biggio to a Minor League contract after he was released by the Los Angeles Dodgers upon being designated for assignment and clearing waivers earlier this month. The former top prospect was designated for assignment as a corresponding move to Freddie Freeman returning from the restricted list and family emergency leave. Biggio is eligible for the postseason with the Giants as he's joined the organization before the 8:59 p.m. PT deadline on Aug. 31.
