9/03/25 Marquise Brown's long-awaited return: Chiefs wide receiver set for season opener in Brazil. KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — In some respects, wide receiver Marquise Brown has been waiting for the Kansas City Chiefs to open the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday night in Brazil for more than 13 months. That's how long ago he hurt his shoulder on the first play of his first preseason game with the Chiefs last year. Sure, the fleet-footed pass catcher nicknamed “Hollywood” made it back for a couple of games late last season, and he was on the field for a playoff run that culminated in a lopsided Super Bowl loss to Philadelphia. However, Brown is the first to admit that the recovery from shoulder surgery and the lack of practice reps had a significant impact on his relatively minimal

9/03/25 Marquise Brown's long-awaited return: Chiefs wide receiver set for season opener in Brazil. In some respects, wide receiver Marquise Brown has been waiting for the Kansas City Chiefs to open the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday night in Brazil for more than 13 months. That leaves them with second-year pro Xavier Worthy, veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster and unheralded Nikko Remigio, Tyquan Thornton and Jason Brownlee on their wide receiver depth chart.

8/14/25 Chiefs' Andy Reid Offers Positive Hollywood Brown Injury Update. The Kansas City Chiefs' receiver room has been beaten up over the course of training camp, but it appears that clearer skies could be on the horizon. With the biggest name being Marquise Brown, who is dealing with a foot/ankle injury, the receiver who saw the majority of his 2025 season be wiped out due to injury, so it isn't ideal that he is again sidelined. Given that the Chiefs were playing the cautious game with No. 5, it now appears that things are traveling in the right direction for Brown, to the extent that head coach Andy Reid has offered up a rather positive update on his receiver's progress.

7/29/25 Xavier Worthy, Marquise Brown 'shaken up' during Chiefs' latest practice. The Kansas City Chiefs are ready to once again be one of the top teams in the league, and the work starts during training camp. The one thing you don't want to happen this early is injuries, and that's what the Chiefs dealt with in their latest practice. Wide receiver Marquise Brown suffered an injury during practice and went back to the team's facility in the front seat of the car. Xavier Worthy was also shaken up during practice, and many people will want to know what his status is moving forward in camp.

6/30/25 2025 Projections for the Chiefs' Offense. There are high hopes for the Kansas City Chiefs' offense. With receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice returning from injuries last season, and the front office completely revamping the offensive line with free agent pickup Jaylon Moore (OT) and 32nd overall pick Josh Simmons (OT), the Chiefs have a new and improved look from last year. In 2024, 10 of the Chiefs' 12 regular season wins came by a margin of one score or less.

4/02/25 Chiefs' HC Andy Reid Gives Parting Words to Josh Uche. Over the course of free agency, the Kansas City Chiefs made some critical, high-profile re-signings. This meant bringing back offensive guard Trey Smith, linebacker Nick Bolton, and wide receiver Marquise Brown for tens of millions of dollars each. Linebacker Josh Uche came to the Chiefs franchise as part of a midseason trade with the New England Patriots. In exchange, Kansas City gave up a 2026 sixth-round pick.

3/29/25 2025 NFL Draft; Chiefs Snag 2,000-Yard WR. Many mock drafts as of late have the Kansas City Chiefs selecting either an offensive or defensive lineman in the first round of this year's draft. While it's a valid prediction, who the Chiefs take is still very much up for grabs. On the offensive side, you could say that receivers Marquise Brown and Rashee Rice are coming off injury-filled seasons and the Chiefs might need some very real insurance options when it comes to their wide receiver room. For that reason, Yahoo Sports' analysts Nate Tice and Charles McDonald believe it's in the Chiefs' best interest to grab yet another offensive weapon for their quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

3/25/25 Marquise Brown Knew He Wanted to Stay With the Chiefs. Unfortunately, Brown sustained a shoulder injury that led him to miss most of the regular season. This didn't stop the Chiefs from immediately re-signing Brown to another one-year contract before free agency started this month. According to Brown himself, he knew he wanted to stay in Kansas City from the start.

3/10/25 Chiefs Draft: What Ohio State's Josh Simmons Brings To The Table. The Kansas City Chiefs have been busy this weekend as they have brought back three key players that were expected to hit the free agent market in wide receiver Marquise Brown, right guard Trey Smith, and middle linebacker Nick Bolton. If the Chiefs want to comprise a roster that can get back and win their third Super Bowl in four years, finding a new franchise left tackle is a big priority.

3/08/25 Chiefs re-sign Marquise Brown to $11 million contract ahead of free agency. While the future seeemed uncertain for Kansas City Chiefs' Marquise Brown, there is some finality to the situation as the team has re-signed the wide receiver to a one-year, $11 million contract according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. There had been many rumors surrounding the Chiefs receiver like the Buffalo Bills snatching up the star, but he will stay with the team as they look to recover from the Super Bowl loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. “The Chiefs are re-signing WR Hollywood Brown to a one-year deal worth up to $11 million, sources tell me and [Ian Rapoport],” Pelissero said on his X, formerly Twitter, account.

3/03/25 Chiefs predicted to make blockbuster trade for Jets $140 million superstar. The Kansas City Chiefs were short at the wide receiver position entering the 2024 offseason, and they are back in the same boat in 2025 thanks to two key pass-catchers being pending free agents. To remedy their wide receiver issues in 2024, the Chiefs signed Marquise Brown and traded for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins during the season. The good news is, the Chiefs figure to get back wide receiver Rashee Rice, who suffered a season-ending knee injury early in the campaign.

2/26/25 Chiefs Should Be Very Leery of Projected WR Salary. Last offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs signed wide receiver Marquise Brown to a one-year, $7 million deal to bolster their aerial attack. The Chiefs had just landed a receiver with a 1,000-yard season under his belt for a bargain, and with Patrick Mahomes throwing the football, Brown's speed would work wonders in Kansas City. The Chiefs don't have a whole lot of cap room, so retaining Brown may be difficult, and ESPN's Bill Barnwell's contract projection for the downfield burner is pretty concerning. In a piece where Barnwell separated all of the offensive free agents into tiers, he placed Brown in the "capable starters" category, which, by Barnwell's calculations, makes him good for an average annual salary between $11-20 million per year.

1/30/25 Chiefs' Marquise Brown Slammed With Brutal Take. Last offseason, the Kansas City Chiefs made what appeared to be one of the better signings of NFL free agency, inking wide receiver Marquise Brown to a one-year, $7 million deal. The Chiefs needed help with their receiving corps, and Brown seemed like a perfect answer. The 27-year-old did return in Week 16 and ended up logging nine catches for 91 yards in a pair of regular-season games (he sat out the season finale).

1/09/25 The Chiefs are better because of injuries and adversity, and not just because of mental resilience. The injuries and adversity that Kansas City had to overcome on its way to earning the No. 1 seed in the AFC playoffs and a first-round bye could be exactly what propels the Chiefs to an unprecedented third consecutive Super Bowl title. Every time the Chiefs lost someone to injury, they managed to find a capable replacement. The Chiefs lost Marquise Brown to a shoulder injury on the first play of the preseason, then Rashee Rice to a season-ending knee injury in Week 4.
