4/24/25 Padres Manager Provides Encouraging Update on Luis Arraez Days After Collision. The San Diego Padres have endured a slew of injuries early this season, but none were more frightening than the scary collision Luis Arraez was involved in last weekend. On Sunday Night Baseball, Arraez collided with Houston Astros second baseman Mauricio Dubon at first while running out a bunt. The Padres star was put on a stretcher and had to be transported to a local Houston hospital for further evaluation. The incident was not only frightening onlooking fans, but Arraez's injury almost brought Fernando Tatis Jr. to tears.

4/23/25 Padres Manager Believes Rules Change 'Makes Sense' After Luis Arraez Injury Scare. San Diego Padres designated hitter Luis Arraez collided with Mauricio Dubon near first base after the Astros' second baseman raced over to cover the bag, and his momentum carried him into Arraez's running path. The collision to Arraez's head left the reigning batting champion inert for about 10 minutes while medics and athletic trainers attended to him on the field. While the game eventually resumed, Arraez was transported to Houston Methodist Hospital for further evaluation. "Thankfully, there is nothing to worry about," Arraez wrote on his Instagram account.

4/15/25 Tatis homers twice as Padres beat Cubs 10-4 to improve to 11-0 at home. Fernando Tatis Jr. homered twice and scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch as the San Diego Padres improved to 11-0 at home by beating the Chicago Cubs 10-4 on Monday night in the opener of a three-game series between National League division leaders. The Padres have the best record in the majors at 14-3. Tatis hit a solo homer with two outs in the third inning, scored the tiebreaking run on a wild pitch in a three-run seventh and then hit a two-run shot in the eighth. Luis Arraez also homered in the eighth, his second, to give the Padres their first back-to-back homers this season.

4/14/25 Padres' Luis Arraez is outdoing even his own incredible hitting methods. Hitting is hard. The San Diego Padres' left-handed maestro has only struck out once this season through 16 games. It's the first time since 2011 that a hitter has only struck out once in that many games to start a season. Arraez has won the batting championship each of the past three seasons, and in those seasons, he averaged 35 strikeouts total.

4/10/25 Padres' Luis Arraez Being Ignored By Umpires After Comments Calling Them Out. Luis Arraez has finished each of the last three seasons with the highest batting average in the league on three different teams. The San Diego Padres' first baseman celebrated his 28th birthday Wednesday, but also spoke on a less festive occurrence regarding multiple umpire crews ignoring him. The San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee pointed out that Arraez is almost always talkative on the diamond whether it be with opposing players on base or the umpires calling the game behind home plate.

4/10/25 San Diego Padres Star's First Strikeout of 2025 is Must-See. San Diego Padres star Luis Arraez is best known for his bat-to-ball ability, which has been exhibited by three straight batting titles, and being the last qualified hitter in the big leagues to record a strikeout this season through 58 plate appearances. Facing Justin Sterner, he fell behind 0-2 after launching a ball just foul that would have been a two-run homer with a well-timed gust of wind.

4/01/25 Cleveland Guardians Outfield Is Elite In Critical Area. The Cleveland Guardians have needed more offensive production from their outfield for the last few seasons. The Guardians arguably have the best defensive outfield in baseball, and that was on full display in their series opener against the San Diego Padres. Both Gavin Sheetz and Luis Arraez tried stretching singles into doubles but faced the same fate: jogging back to the dugout after being thrown out by a Cleveland outfielder.

3/25/25 Padres' $14 Million All-Star Predicted to Lead NL in Key Stat Category in 2025. The San Diego Padres are looking for revenge in 2025. After a 93-win regular season that ended entirely too early, it isn't just Friar faithful who are preparing for an exciting season in San Diego. One MLB insider predicted a key piece of the Padres to have another league-leading season in one key stat. Luis Arraez is known for getting a hit however he can, but after the Padres acquired him last May, he seems to have taken his game to a new level.
