4/19/25 Guardians reliever returns to PNC Park one year after scary injury. Friday's return to PNC Park was big for Guardians reliever Jakob Junis on a variety of levels. It was the first time Junis was back in Pittsburgh since August when he was playing for Cincinnati, but it also marked the nearly one year anniversary of a scary incident that saw the veteran right-hander carted off the field on a stretcher. Junis was on the Brewers roster on April 22, 2024, rehabbing a shoulder injury and had just finished playing catch at PNC Park when he was running sprints in the outfield with his back to home plate.

2/16/25 Guardians add RHP Jakob Junis on 1-year deal. The Cleveland Guardians added right-hander Jakob Junis on Sunday with a one-year, $4.5 million deal. Junis, 32, was a combined 4-0 with a career-best 2.69 ERA in 24 appearances (six starts) with the Milwaukee Brewers and Cincinnati Reds last season. He missed time because of a shoulder injury, as well as a freak incident when he was hit in the neck by a fly ball during batting practice. In eight seasons with the Kansas City Royals (2017-21) San Francisco Giants (2022-23), Brewers and Reds, Junis is 42-45 with a 4.48 ERA in 192 appearances (116 starts). –Field Level Media

The 32-year-old Junis declined his part of an $8 million mutual option with Cincinnati in November in favor of a $3 million buyout. 7/22/24 Rock Falls’ Jay Schueler signs with Toronto Blue Jays. A lifelong dream achieved. Jay Schueler continues the Rock Falls factory of pitchers — alongside the Brewers’ Jake Junis and Rays’ Seth Blair — to join a Major League Baseball organization signing as a undrafted free agent with the Toronto Blue Jays. It only took one scout to recognize Schueler’s ability, throwing for Southeastern against […]

5/17/22 Jake Junis is the Royals' best starter, which is why Cal Eldred needs to go next. If the Royals are serious about accountability, they must replace pitching coach Cal Eldred. Organizational pitching philosophy can’t be fixed by replacing one person—even if that person is the pitching coach for the big league squad—but the team is undeniably in need of a change at the big league level. Now, Junis has only pitched 20 innings so far.

8/31/21 Kansas City Royals defeated by the Cleveland Amed Rosarios 7-2. However, for tonight, the professional baseball team in Cleveland was simply the Cleveland Amed Rosarios as its namesake outperformed the entire Royals offense in a 7-2 road win over Kansas City. The starting pitcher for the Royals tonight was Jake Junis, pitching in his first game since June 3 thanks to an undisclosed injury. Junis entered the year with high hopes thanks to a spicy new cutter that he added to his arsenal with the help of his brother, Noah.
