4/21/25 Unexpected Starter Has Been Massive for Guardians Rotation. Logan Allen wasn't supposed to be in the Cleveland Guardians rotation heading into the 2025 season. Four starts into the new year, and the unexpected pitcher is still proving why he deserves one of the five rotation spots, while being a massive boost for the Guardians' pitching staff. Allen was roughed up a little bit in his season debut, giving up four earned runs to the San Diego Padres.

4/19/25 Cleveland Guardians Pitcher Starting to Look Like a Lost Cause. The Cleveland Guardians entered 2025 they would have to piece together their starting rotation, as it was a major issue last year and didn't get a whole lot better during the offseason. The Guardians' last spot on their starting pitching staff was up for grabs in spring training, with Logan Allen and Triston McKenzie representing the primary two arms fighting for it. Allen ended up winning the battle, relegating McKenzie to the bullpen.

4/02/25 Guardians Skipper Encouraged By Intriguing Pitcher's Season Debut. Heading into spring training, the initial plan for the Cleveland Guardians wasn't to have Logan Allen in their starting rotation. The lefty made his first appearance of the season on Tuesday night in Cleveland's loss to the San Diego Padres, and Stephen Vogt was clearly encouraged by what he saw from the 26-year-old. Allen did give up some runs, but Cleveland's skipper overall thought, "Logan was outstanding."

3/23/25 Guardians have starting rotation set, but outfield spots are still up for grabs. The Cleveland Guardians manager and front office still have other roster issues to sort out before Thursday's opener at Kansas City. Vogt told reporters on Sunday at the team's spring training complex and via zoom that Logan Allen will be the team's fifth starter and Triston McKenzie will begin the season working out of the bullpen. Allen has had a strong spring. “Like I told him, completely different pitcher than the one I saw last year, and that's a credit to him and the work he put in this winter,” Vogt said of Allen, who was 8-5 with a 5.73 ERA last year and allowed 22 home runs in 20 starts.

10/23/24 Guardians Urged To Cut Ties With Frustrating Pitcher. Last year, it looked like the Cleveland Guardians may have hit on yet another pitching prospect. Logan Allen, who was considered a top-100 prospect heading into 2023, enjoyed an impressive rookie campaign, logging a 3.81 ERA while registering 119 strikeouts over 125.1 innings of work. The Guardians ended up demoting Allen, who also struggled with a 5.36 ERA through 10 outings at Triple-A Columbus. As a result, Quincy Wheeler of Covering The Corner has seen enough and wants Cleveland to move on from the 26-year-old this winter.

8/06/24 Cleveland Guardians Shake Things Up With Roster Moves. The Cleveland Guardians have optioned starting pitcher Logan Allen back down to the minors after returning for just one start, via Mandy Bell of MLB.com. As a corresponding move, the Guardians have called up pitcher Anthony Gose. Allen put forth a decent showing against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, giving up two runs on five hits in five innings of work. The lefty has been a disappointment on the season overall, pitching to the tune of a 5.56 ERA while registering a 1.538 WHIP across 92.1 frames.

8/06/24 Guardians lefty survives terrible, horrible, no good, very bad inning in return to big leagues. What began as a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad start for Logan Allen turned into something special, even if the Guardians went on to lose Monday's series opener to the Diamondbacks, 7-6 in 10 innings. The question now for Allen is, was his gutsy effort enough to keep him in Cleveland's rotation with trade deadline reinforcement Alex Cobb and veteran lefty Matthew Boyd inching closer and closer to their season debuts? Allen gave up a home run on the first pitch he threw to Ketel Marte, and another to Gabriel Moreno just four pitches later. When Randal Grichuk smashed a 105 mph rocket off the side of Allen's head, it looked like his return to the big leagues after a month at Triple-A Columbus was over practically before it began.

8/05/24 Guardians add LHP Logan Allen to face Arizona. The Cleveland Guardians recalled left-hander Logan Allen from Triple-A Columbus, while right-hander Connor Gillispie was optioned to Columbus. Allen, 25, is set to start Monday's home game against the Arizona Diamondbacks as starter Tanner Bibee deals with a shoulder injury.

8/05/24 Logan Allen's Return Could Be Turning Point For Guardians' Pitching. Logan Allen will be making his return to the Cleveland Guardians' starting rotation on Monday night after spending the last month in the minor leagues. It represents a critical juncture for a Guardians pitching staff that has been one of the worst in baseball this season but could be getting some reinforcements at the right time. Not only is Allen preparing to take the mound, but in-season acquisitions Matthew Boyd and Alex Cobb are rehabbing and could be ready to join Cleveland's rotation soon.

Right-hander Tanner Bibee, who had his scheduled start Saturday pushed back indefinitely, is not slated to face Arizona when the defending National League champions come to Progressive Field.
