4/19/25 Angels' Taylor Ward says his baserunning gaffe `probably never happen again'. Taylor Ward committed a baserunning gaffe that was embarrassing but not costly for the Los Angeles Angels in a 2-0 victory over the San Francisco Giants. Ward grounded into what he thought was a 5-4-3 double play in the eighth inning Friday night, taking a wide turn around first base and 10-to-12 steps toward second before veering toward the third-base dugout. Giants first baseman LaMonte Wade Jr. bobbled the low throw but did not see Ward heading toward second and threw the ball to pitcher Lou Trivino.

Taylor Ward got the ball rolling in the first, belting a leadoff homer to right. Adell went on to hit the Angels' fourth home run of the inning as well, before Trout capped things off with his second solo shot in the ninth.

Left fielder and leadoff batter Taylor Ward is experiencing some knee soreness and is listed as day-to-day. Hopefully this won't sideline Ward for long because the Angels are counting on him to set the tone at the top of the lineup in 2025. “I like hitting first, really, just because knowing what pitch you're going to see first,” Ward said.

9/20/24 Angels' Taylor Ward credits September turnaround to improved mechanics. A lack of run support has become an increasing problem for the Angels, but left fielder Taylor Ward isn't among the reasons why. In Thursday night's loss to the Houston Astros, their lone run came off Ward's first-inning home run. It was Ward's fifth leadoff blast of 2024 (all of them coming in the past 19 games), tying him for the fifth-most in MLB. On a 3-and-2 count, Ward crushed Yushi Kikuchi's 95-mile-per-hour fastball 416 feet to left field, where it crashed into Minute Maid Park's brick façade above the seats.

9/15/24 Angels come up short against Astros, lose 4th straight. Taylor Ward and Nolan Schanuel both came steaming toward the plate, just about 30 feet apart, with Schanuel representing the tying run in the bottom of the eighth inning. The ball arrived in between them, just in time to keep the Angels down by a run in a game they went on to lose, 5-3, to the Houston Astros on Saturday night. The unusual play was one of the few moments when the Angels showed some offensive life, but it wasn't enough. Down 4-2, the Angels loaded the bases on two walks and a hit batter with one out.
