2/19/25 Astros, Former Rockies 2B Brendan Rodgers Agree to Minor League Deal. The Houston Astros and free agent second baseman Brendan Rodgers have agreed to a one-year minor league contract, KPRC 2's Ari Alexander reported Tuesday night. Rodgers picked up an invitation to the Astros' big league training camp in West Palm Beach, Florida, as part of the deal. Had he not been non-tendered by the Colorado Rockies in November, Rodgers would have been arbitration-eligible this winter rather than a free agent. Instead, Rodgers will be fighting for a payday and a spot on the Astros' Opening Day roster over the next five weeks of preseason camp.

1/08/25 Should Yankees Pursue Kiké Hernández to Address Infield Need?. In recent days, the New York Yankees have been linked to Luis Arráez, Brendan Rodgers, Paul DeJong, and Gavin Lux as potential solutions for their infield needs. Lux, of course, was traded to the Cincinnati Reds shortly after those reports emerged. Free-agent super utility man Kiké Hernández has played every position except catcher during his 11-year big-league career.

12/01/24 Former Rockies Cal Quantrill, Brendan Rodgers Named Free Agents Worth Watching. With MLB's non-tender deadline long since passed, the players who got let go have been fully integrated into the free agent pool at large. MLB Trade Rumors compiled two lists of non-tendered players to keep an eye on this winter, one consisting of five position players and the other made up of five pitchers. One Colorado Rockies castoff made each list – second baseman Brendan Rodgers and starting pitcher Cal Quantrill. Colorado jettisoned both players just before the deadline passed on Nov. 22.

11/22/24 Brendan Rodgers, Cal Quantrill non-tendered by Rockies in roster shakeup. The Rockies shook up their roster and continued their youth movement Friday when they non-tendered Gold Glove second baseman Brendan Rodgers and right-handed starter Cal Quantrill. The moves cut the club's payroll for the 2025 season and cleared a path for young prospects, such as second baseman Adael Amador and a crop of young starters who could make their big-league debuts in 2025. Both Rodgers and Quantrill are entering their final year of arbitration, with Rodgers estimated to be in line for a $6 million salary and Quantrill due to make around $9 million. According to major league sources, the Rockies attempted to trade both players but did not find a deal worth making.

11/17/24 Angels Rumors: the Rockies willing to part with 2 players who fit well with LAA. The Angels have a ways to go to fill out their roster, and the Colorado Rockies could be willing to part with players who could immediately help round out the team. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that the Rockies could entertain offers on INF Brendan Rodgers and RHP Justin Lawrence. The Rockies are spending a lot of money on a team that has less hope for contention than the Angels. Rodgers is in line for a shade under $6 million in his final year of arbitration, so it stands to reason that the Rockies would want to move off that money.

11/14/24 Colorado Rockies Reportedly Open to Trading Brendan Rodgers, Justin Lawrence. The Colorado Rockies, coming off yet another last-place finish in the NL West, may have to shake things up a bit heading into 2025. ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Tuesday that the Rockies are "open to moving" second baseman Brendan Rodgers and right-handed relief pitcher Justin Lawrence. Rodgers had a bounce back season in 2024 after missing over 100 games in 2023 due to shoulder surgery.

8/07/24 New York Mets Submit Entry For Blooper of the Year With Two Errors on One Play. The New York Mets! () The Mets couldn't hold onto the ball against the Rockies. by: Stephen Douglas Posted: Aug 7, 2024 / 09:54 AM CDT Updated: Aug 7, 2024 / 09:54 AM CDT SHARE The Colorado Rockies beat the New York Mets 6-3 on Tuesday night at Coors Field. The Mets took an early lead, scoring two runs in the top of the second inning, but then things got stereotypically Mets-y in the bottom half of the inning. With one out Brendan Rodgers was hit by a pitch. Then Kris Bryant stepped to the plate and hit a single to right center, which moved Rodgers to third. That's when things got weird. Center fielder Harrison Bader overthrew both his cutoff man and Francisco Lindor who was covering second.

7/13/24 Rockies doomed by two messy innings, lose 7-3 to Mets. The dog days of summer are already taking a bite out of the Rockies. Two awful innings doomed them in a 7-3 loss to the Mets at Citi Field on Saturday afternoon. Combining walks, timely hits and a costly error by Rockies second baseman Brendan Rodgers, New York scored four runs in the second inning. It salted the game away in the eighth on a three-run home run by Francisco Lindor off Jalen Beeks.

7/12/24 Rockies smack four home runs, still lose to Mets after Tanner Gordon gets shelled. Say this for the Rockies: At least they made it interesting Friday night. Down five runs after five innings, Brendan Rodgers, Charlie Blackmon and Brenton Doyle all homered between the seventh and eighth innings to pull Colorado within a run of the New York Mets in the opening game of their three-game set at Citi Field. Michael Toglia also homered for Colorado, which is now 33-62 this season after another ineffective outing on the mound.

7/06/24 Red Sox, Dodgers Both Are Options For Gold Glove Winner On Trade Block. The Boston Red Sox could use an upgrade in the middle infield and could find one this summer at the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline. It would be surprising if the Red Sox didn't add in some capacity and it could make sense to add a short-term option for the middle infield. Boston even was mentioned as a "potential fit" for Colorado Rockies infielder Brendan Rodgers along with the Los Angeles Dodgers by MLB.com's Mark Feinsand. "Rodgers missed half of June with a hamstring injury, but the 27-year-old has played well of late, slashing .333/.365/.625 with three homers and 10 RBIs in 14 games last month," Feinsand said.
